There was a feature on one of the Chargers in a Mopar mag a few years ago but I can't recall the magazine or the block color.  I want to say it was Mopar Action but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

If you're referring to the car below, it's not an original Six Pack car. It's a 400 4spd car.  There are only 2 Chargers known to exist (1 yellow and 1 red), but I haven't seen either except for the red one in pics.  I've contacted the owner of a V-code Roadrunner to see what color his engine is... I'll post as soon as I hear back from him.

Ok. The owner of the Roadrunner got back to me. The engine was not in his car when he got it, BUT... he did see the red Charger I mentioned above (before it was restored) and the engine was blue.  I'm trying to get pics of the yellow car from two different people who have seen it.  None yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post the info here.

I think since 72 all engines were blue... end of REAL performance era, so end of turquoise and orange engines

An interesting observation Nacho and you may just very well be right.  The advertising push became more about exciting styling on the outside with insurance friendly powertrains so there would be less incentive to have something visually bold under the hood.

for some reason i'm thinking the engine was blue and the air cleaner lid was orange...

I once documented a 71 GTX with a factory warranty replacement engine from 72.  That engine was
painted blue

My 72 won't be a resto, clone, phantom or tribute - just a hotrod so it's orange engine paint for me :icon_smile_tongue:

Thanks guys...I know Orange is cooler but I'm thinking Blue is a nice "sleeper/stocker" color

Thanks, blue it is!

so as stated, all 72 engines were corporate blue no matter performance :)
