Hey guys...need some help.....my body guy is installing a repro trunk in my 1968 Charger R/T....the floor it's replacing is long gone so we don't know exactly where to cut the hole that the filler neck goes through and how big it should be.......

Could someone with an original trunk floor, or accurately restored one please measure it out for me? The exact size and placement in relationship with any distinguishable trunk 'landmarks' would be greatly helpful........

Thanks in advance!

Robert

Hi Robert,
The repro trunk floors have a little depression where you need to make the cut for the fuel filler. Have a new repro seal & your filler tube on hand for reference. The seal should cover the hole. Cut the pre-stamped depression out.
Here are some shots of my trunk floor, both as I was replacing it & afterwards. You can kind of see the hole masked up after I sprayed it. At least this will give you an idea.
Once you have the tube fitted up, THEN drill the hole for the small vent tube grommet. Use a hole saw for this.
