Has anybody here bought one of those 5.7L Hemi crates with the plug and play?
Have tried junkjard 5.7L change before(mission aborted), have plan to have another go at it but with a crate insted, is those plug and play as good as it sounds?

Since its a smallblock made Hemi i can imagne there are some weak spots, but are those crate one so much diffrent than the stock one?
First i was thinking in buing a junkyard one(strip it down) and then get the plugg and play things but i dont know if they can be bought?

the plug and play is pretty much that easy - however- if you ever tweak anything like induction, camshaft, or any other major component - u'll have to have it tuned and a competent shop who can flash you a new data chip - - -    as the plug and play system is calibrated for the "stock" engine components

A stock 5.7 weak??? Thats funny, I have worked on many of them so far.  5.7 is amasing compared to the 360, Heck the 5.7 even comes with hypertenic pistons, sweet 4 bolt mains, ARP bolts, race cosmetic head gaskets, all gaskets are resuable on this motor, etc.   With a nice cam and light head work FRI is makeing + 130 hp to the wheels + much more with proper tunning!!!!  The 6.1L  even has a factory forged crank with floting pistions, it even has oil squirtes that spray oil on the bottom of the pistions.     The down side the the 5.7 is the top pistion ring landing.  For emishion reasons, they put the top ring reall close to the top of the pistion, and it will chip if the car runns real lean! Buy what motor runns well real lean?
