I know what you're saying but I know a lot of people buy raffle tickets on cars with the idea that if they win, they'll just sell the car.  Hell, I've done it myself.  I suppose the good thing is that if he doesn't want it, at least it will now go to a Charger driver.

Gorgeous motor....
HAving just spent $24k on a kitchen, I can't help but wonder if I could swap it AND my wife for the car...

I opened the auction and was thinking, somebody has seen Mike's car and LIKED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

TUFCAT

I'd probably do the same thing if I won it.  :scratchchin:  Beautiful Charger!!! ..... but its just not my cup of java to keep. I prefer something a bit closer to original....but hey, that's me.

Does that front sway bar look like a rear bar? or is it just me?

Nice car though... that supercharger alone is like 5k.

bzabodyn

Yep - lot more than $50k put into that '68 - anyone know what they spent on the car?

For $50K he should put a much better description and bigger pictures. It seems he only mentions bolt on parts. Nothing is explained about the restoration/bodywork. Maybe because it was a raffle car and he really knows nothing about it?

:iagree: Heck yea, I do that all the time too. I'm always trying to get free money to finish the Charger. I'd probably even sell a raffle Charger to do it (after tearing it up a little). :D

What's that big button next to the speedo?

I bet it's one of those blowers that only runs when you push a button, like the ones in the movies.

i thought the winner had to keep the car for a year and show up at certain events for the project hope?  man... that sux.  I would have kept that car if I had won.  I am out of state, but got my tickets early enough before they refunded money, so my tickets were in the raffle.

No map light?  or is there a map light delete plate?

The car looks great, I don't like the DVD screen in the dash, or the sound system though.  I'm  not a big fan of sound systems, all I care about is the car being as light as possible and fast.  The only true sound system that counts imo is the rumble of the V-8. :icon_smile_big:

What's that big button next to the speedo?

It's actually an MSD boost retard. You can dial in the amount of ignition timing you want taken out for every pound of boost. It is a way to protect the motor from detonation under boost.

That looks like it's the right bar, it's just missing the little brace.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

O.K since were on the 68 Charger subject, I have a question.  How come sometimes I see 68 grilles that are all black, (like picture below)but other times some look like the ribs on the grilles, going verticle are silver?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

To funny, I read this thread several times saying to myself, I can't beleive this guy is calling someone a retard?  Until I finally fiqured it out "boost retard".  :eek2: No comments please.  It's early in the am for me.

That's funny, I thought the same thing.. Kinda harsh to be calling someone a retard over that question...

Then it dawned on me...  :icon_smile_big:

I know the feeling, I just didn't want to be the first one to "come clean"...  :icon_smile_big:

70charger_boy

I bought 2 tickets only to get them rescinded, due to the whole out of state thing.  It's a Shame, because if I won that car all my projects would be on hold and I would kiss Goldberg's ass to get me on Bullrun, so we could have a charger and a daytona in Bullrun 2  :D

Years ago, FastbackJon and I got into a debate about this same subject.  I thought that the original '68 grills were all black (how could I be wrong? I had a new charger in 1968!)  and Jon thought they had the dull silver on the verical ribs.  After looking at old ads and confirming with the original designer of the '68, (he showed up at a Charger meet on Whidbey Island) it turned out that Jon was right.  I think they look better all black and that's why that little detail gets left out on alot of restorations.    Bob

no the pro and con new dodge sedan debates drag on and on and on and on and...
oh yeah and the new chally is commin out threads too....  :D

Yeah, I thought you had to keep for a year before selling. Maybe he could not come up with the 25% taxes on total Value. That means if you win you still have to pay $15,000-$25,000 just to win it for free, free my ass. I thought if I won I'd have to sell my 70 charger to be able to pay the taxes & not sure I'd want to do that but I do like it. LEON. :rotz:

Ghoste

A foreigners question here, but are those state or federal taxes?
