Test drove a new Shelby today. Price was 47 grand, but hey, it was  free test drive at least. I didn't bring the camera w/me during test drive, but computer was opened up and I'll say this much, we did catch a new R/T charger during the 10 mile drive, that poor mopar didn't have a chance.
I got a photo of me and of the car after words. I keep telling myself I'm going to order another won and keep it this time. But wife is pregnant and I need a truck and I have two other mopars right now. But w/spring coming in 5 1/2 months, ordering another new '08 isn't a bad idea still. No, it's not a mopar but it beats waiting on a new Chally! I tried to load photos, but file is too large, I'll try again later.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

WTF are you talking about? No argument and it is a real factory '07 Shelby, not a wanna be 60's car.

I don't like the new Shelby Mustangs. They look goofy without a rear wing. And I don't care for the chrome grille in them either. I want the black and silver Rouschcharged stage 3 Mustang sitting in town here for only $43,000 :yesnod: It's even autographed with a pic of Jack signing it. Looks exactly like this one :drool5:

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!" :P

I rode in a Roush Stage 3. Holy crap, that was a blast! It was earlier this past summer, not recently. My buddy who works at Ford here still, his dad ordered a new Shelby and had it sent to Super Snake last week for mods. It will have 750 H.P. when done. My wife says I can have whatever new car I want within reason of price, meaning under 50 grand and I make the payments. But, no more mopars for now, they would all have to be gone till new car is paid for and then buy new/old toys.
I'm 40 now, might be a mid life, nah, I just want a new toy that I don't have to work on every freaking weekend like before. But, I do still have a love for ma-mopar.

Brock, I think your confussed and replying to my topic when you should be dropping your messages somewhere else, either that, you've been drinking heavily and are just clueless tonight. Cause your not making a hell of a lot of sense in this posting.

Whackoff dealer down the street has $75,000 on the window for a Shelby... damn I hate car dealers.   :fu:

Amen Mark...

I had a chance to see the new shelby and the Roush Mustang, this summer during a John Force signing at Tasca Ford.  Bob Tasca along with Carroll Shelby was there.  It was truly a blast and the word around the street is that it is the best bang for your buck.

I stumbled across a Neo Shelby forum about a year ago on which the posters had three main complaints:

"I got gouged by the dealer's markup over MSRP!"  So, whydya buy it, knucklehead?

"It gets lousy gas mileage!"  It takes fuel to create horsepower, Sherlock.

"The ride is too stiff!" Why do you think it handles better than a stock Mustang, Gomer?

I decided right then and there that even if Hell froze over and I bought a Ford, I wouldn't buy a Shelby and be associated with those idiots, no matter what.

Got one this past spring. Great car fun to drive! Like it or not you can thank Ford for building it in 1964 and reinventing it in 2005. Both times the Mustangs success prompted GM & Dodge to build the Camaro and the Challenger! :2thumbs:

It's what you call a perfect circle.  In 1964 everyone was competing with the Mustang.  Now, in 2007 they are still doing it.

If Dodge was to make the new Charger with 2 doors and loose that cross hair truck grille I wonder who the winner would be

Not everyone on this site is into mopars. Therefore, never mind. You'd just strike back w/another lame comment. I've been into mopars since I was 13, I'm 40 now. So this isn't a recent discovery. I'm a muscle car guy, I like all of them. I've owned a lot as well of muscle cars of every make. Agreed, if mopar makes a true muscle car again, then I will consider buying a mopar again, until that time, I'll venture else where. I worked for Dodge here a while ago, I would have bought a Viper if my wife had agreed with the monthly payments. I worked for GM and Ford also. I liked the new Vet' as well as my wife did, but I just couldn't see me driving a Vet'. The new Mustang is more my style for non mopar. The way I see this topic, I don't talk smack anymore about General Tesh about his DukeTona, so if you have nothing good to say about my test drive and my taste in cars/trucks, then don't post your worthless comment here.
It's times like these I wanna buy a off brand for spite, and I've done it before and loved every minute of it.

Another edit due to private message from Brock.
You know, if you read my post/topic, I think it explains pretty much everything. I'm not going to get into the facts about how Ford built Shelby's in the 1970's and that it crap. I understand this is a charger web site, Christ, I've owned a lot of them. I was simply making a comment about a test drive today and holly crap, now I'm getting private messages from guys freaking out about why am I speaking of such a car on a dodge web site. I now understand why some guys have left this web site and don't come back anymore, I've apologised to those who I've pissed off in the past. I'm not a guy to stand down to anyone, but I'm thinking my time is done here and to those who can't handle another person liking another car besides a f@#king charger.........
Later and thanks to those who have helped me when I asked for it, but to those who are stubborn assholes, heres to ya'..... :fu:
For the record, I don't drink, smoke, chew or drugs, I just call the shots as I see them.
Later people........Mark

Nice cars. My brother had his truck in for warranty work . His wife and him went to pick it up and it was not ready yet. So while waiting for it She decided that he needed a new car-toy and asked him what he would buy? He said I like the Shelby's. So they drove one and he bought it. She drove it home that day and I came over. She was complaining about how she felt every crack in the freeway. I gave her the line that" It was  built for speed and not comfort". My brother added "it was made to slide around tight mountain corners." She huffed "you better not be driving my car that way!" He said " But I thought It was my car?"
His is the 07,non super charged Shelby Gt, 56?? out of 6000. and he paid about 2/3 rd. of list price.   Some call it another fake shelby Well It runs A larger percentage better over the stock Mustang Gt. Than Did the Original Gt350's over the stock hipo 289s in 67. It is not just a decal job on a production car.  Plus  Shelby donates the proffits from use of his name to children's hospitals. To ensure that in 40 years 'they' will be drooling over the new cars of today. What if the prices for these cars do what the old Shelby's did.  They will be $600,000.00 plus.  John

After reading Marks last post. I support his view 100%.  Look Guys we are all car lovers. Being passionate about our cars is why we post. Respect that a member sees something he likes and is willing to share it. I never liked the dukes of hazard simply because of all the cars that were destroyed. Plus I might be a little offended by how close to home the show gets.  But I am not going to defame some one for building a General Lee. I also see how that the passion for one, could help the rebuilding of cars that would have been lost.  Let's don't become a bunch of Mopar extremists splitting into sectoral fascist's. Fighting about the chapters of the Mopar repair manual and how we should interpret it. That the Ford Or GM manuals Are evil books. That we should take Toyota's full of explosives to destroy any one that read one, and found a helpful message toward working on Mopars. .  ....God bless our troops that are fighting a similar war tonight.
