Bought these R/T tail lights 2 years ago, finally opened them up for inspection

I bought these about 2 years ago on Ebay from another guy up north here in the state. I hit the "buy it now" button for $500.. He said he had them in his barn for around 13 years. I had them in my closet since I bought them. I was actually thinking of selling them :P  BUT, not no more. Someone talked some sense into me about them :slap:   I can't believe how good of shape these are in for a unrestored set. The wires are still soft and plyable, and very complete. The lenses are not cracked, spider webbed, or faded. The reverse lenses are not yellowed. Only very minor scratches from dusting the lenses with a dry rag (I didn't do it) The only minor corrosion is on the housings. And one wire for the one reverse light has two breaks in it, but easy to fix. The gasket that goes between the lenses and the housings is still very soft, and spongy. And the bezels could be used as is, but I want to have them media blasted to remove the old rattle can paint runs, so I can redo it with better quality. If I am reading the date code right, these are '71 tail lights? I don't think I ever yet seen a complete set in this good of shape anywhere that is not restored.

 NO! Just bragging a weee little :yesnod:

Some guys are paying more than $500 and there mostly parts, or in need of wiring repair, or lenses. I just got lucky I guess.
