A friend of mine used them on his 440 sixpak and claims that they are real nice and the sealed up well too. :2thumbs:

That is what I was hoping to hear. My factory manifolds were ported out so much that they will not seal properly.

We had a set from Year One on our '68 Charger.   They fit fine with no leakage.   The only thing that I was not happy about was the heat riser valve.   It rattled during acceleration, and I didn't think that it operated properly.  I ended up changing the spring so that it remained fully open all the time.

I have them on my car.  They are exactly the same with the exception of a large Y1 cast into them on the inside that faces the valve cover.  Fit perfectly fine and have had no exhaust leaks at the cyl head.

Are they eligible for the discount codes from Year One? Might wait for a 20% off one if that is the case.

I bought two sets over a year ago, with the 20% off coupon, they were about $230 each set, $36.00 shipping.

They do come with gaskets and all of the stud sleeves as well.

I have not used them yet, but they look great for the price. If you can put up with the Y1 on
the inside of the manifold its fine, you can't really even see it when installed anyway.

According to 8wheeler his price was $266 per set with shipping...that seems like a decent price to me. Even the $359 per set is not too bad when you take 20% off of it.

I ordered mine Decemeber 23, 2006, and just got them this week (November 7, 2007).

They do look good, except they are very much in need of a good gasket match job. The ports are way, way, off....lots of casting flash.

They come with ALL the hardware, studs, nuts, gaskets, everything...and a heat riser. It was a very good deal for $359.

For the guys that have bought these do you know if the coating is just a high temp paint or is it more durable like Jet Hot or ceramic?

That was an NOS rattle you got rid of . When my car  was new it would rattle till it had 12-15K miles on it.Then it just did it at idle.

high temperature paint i think as   :scratchchin:, the stuff come off easy with lacquer thinner on the gasket mounting surfaces :yesnod:

:iagree:  Seems to be a good coat of high temp paint, I don't think it is the Eastwood stuff, but you never know.

I have had two sets of original manifolds Jet Coated, by a professional shop. The first set I put on my car started
rusting in 6mo. I took them off, took them in with the other set I had not used yet, he said WOW, that
is bad, how hot does your car run? I told him in stop and go traffic it might hit 200 210 max.......... he said he
must have had water in his gun that day. He redid both sets, 6mo later they started rusting again   :icon_smile_angry: :icon_smile_angry:
I am sticking with the Eastwood high temp, its looked great on my wife's charger, going on 6yrs now.................

Speaking of Jet hot coatings.....do they come in a multitude of colors? The reason I ask is because I plan to have Jet Hot do my YO repro exhaust manifolds with a cast iron grey look. I want that engine to look fresh and be maintenance free (if had the yearly pain of re-spraying and touching up after every season). Secondly, the reason I ask about colors, can I get the Jet Hot coating on the intake manifold? The heat cross over area by the choke bowl always gets that dark burnt paint look after a few long drives....no matter which brand of High Temp engine enamel I have used - - and I've tried them all.

Do you need the heat crossover? I just blocked mine off so that doesn't happen. They make a valley pan with the passage blocked so it is a pretty easy fix unless you drive in cold weather a lot.

thought of doing exactly that....its a lot cheaper, and there's no need for the choke during the summer when I drive it  :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

Wow Dan, thanks for posting that. I guess there's nothing to prevent that......"factory rusted look" which is actually the best for originality  :P

Dan, is the Jet coating still on the front or the back?  Just curious, because I like natural look
on the front - well cept for where the rust is starting.

How about pics with the Eastwood paint?

694spdRT  Care to part with your overported manifolds?
