Ive had this poster as long as I can remember.  When I was a little kid, I LOVED monster trucks and we went to an event in Atlanta Fulton county stadium (before it was torn down)  My parents got me this poster and I never really noticed what the truck was crushing when i was younger.   But I found this thing not to long ago and have been meaning to take pics.    Sadly, a 1970 Dodge Charger is being crushed!   If you look at the photo closely, the grille still looks to be in good shape! ha   I'd thought id share this thing with yall.

That makes me sick.  When I was young, I also loved monster trucks. I remember going to see a show at the Salt Palace in SLC Utah and there was a duster in the line. It still had the hood scoops on it.  I remember watching as the car got crushed.  I was like 7 or 8 and it made me sick.  I loved dusters.  I also remember about ten years ago, A guy demo derbyd a 70 340 duster. Didn't do good at all.  What a waist. Also. In return of the monster trucks 2 there is a 70 coronet getting crushed.  The good ol days werent so good when you think about it.

Definitely a bummer. It's amazing how unharmed the grill is.

Thats because it's a 70 grill.

That 70 bumper could get hit by a train and still hold it's shape.

Very tough bumper!  :2thumbs:

Its really sickening to think about all the cool cars that were destroyed back when they were just "old cars".

Poor Charger. :'(

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

terrible one

Bump! Historic thread . . . for some reason I remembered it and went looking for it. Maybe some of the newer members will get a kick out of this . . .

SRT-68

These cars had no value in the late '70s. I can remember needing a r-front fender and a bumper for my '70 Road Runner and how happy I was that one of the THREE that were at pick your part was yellow and matched my car. We would go to the yards and pull 3 or 4 4 speeds out and tear them apart for the big bearing cases and leave the rest in the dirt.  The yards were full of 383 and 440 b-bodys.  Remember this was when you could get a 440 convert Challenger for a grand and a Daytona was selling for $5k.  That '70 charger was just another junk yard car.

I never knew you guys were such a sensitive lot.

Please don't think about the 100,000+ decent Chargers that were stripped and crushed throughout the years. I'm afraid of what you might do to yourself.

I do believe I know the driver of that truck as well. I do believe it's the same guy that designed and built the 2 monster trucks for in the film back in the late '80's called "Rolling Vengeance".

Benji

Look at the bright side of things guys, there are two less Fords now too bad they weren't Hondas!!! (I think the car on the left is a Ford isn't it?)

This is why it's so frustrating for GL fans when people blame DOH for single-handedly making '69 Chargers rare.  The raw numbers make that idea pretty laughable.
