I replaced the 4 spark plugs boot I knew was bad and was a pain. Lite her back up and have some details.

When I first lite her number 6 was still glowing red but it has a heat sheild now so I let her run. Pulled the dip stick and there was sucken, not blow by.  ;D

Shot the timing again, sure looked like 10 dergess before TDC but losen the dist and was going to advanes a little more in case the timing ring slipped. Shot the light again and it showed 5 ATDC? Moved her up to 10 BTDC center and cranked down the Dist. Had to play with it but I think I am right. Guess what? Number 6 stop glowing red and idel picked up.

Checked the temp, after 20 minutes I was only at 155 just like the 42sick that was in the Charger. (Big cross flow aluminum radiator)

Open the radiator and no Milk Shake (see other posting)

I did not post this before, but I nailed it carb would back fire. Never thought about that with not messing with the 750 Holley. After setting the timing no back fire.

Best part, as some of you know I did a 68 Hemi Charger, not the engine but paint and body. Never beat on Steves Hemi, not mine. But I would rap her up some and whole car twisted when I did. By 440 with out the blower felt the same tonight.

I think she just might live. Wish I could post I drover her tonight and lite the tires in all 3 gears, but I can't. Cuda Ken knows better than get a DUI. ;D

I must say I am feeling much better, playing Born To Run as I miss spell.

Have about 40 minutes on the 440, will take for her first oil change Friday and after that I Will Kick The Tires And Light The Fires :2thumbs: :drive: :drive:

God, final I feel good about the money I have in this monster. ;D If it is a dream, I don't want to wake up!

                           ;D ;D :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: Ken.

Sweeet....that's more like it. Dang timing will do it every time. Sounds like the outer ring has slipped making the original mark useless for timing purposes. Glad to hear it Ken !   :icon_smile_cool:

Sweet Ken,  I bet she will sit you back in the seat abit.

Dam Brain you post fast. ;D

Ron, there was crap on the balancer that looked like a timing mark. :P Blancer at this point seem OK but I will check just to make sure.

Will be posting more questions when I drop in the Mallory Unalight Dist and MSD and MSD Timing control.  Can't find a wiring digram but have not looked hard either. Next will be the new tank and 1/2 ID fuel line and 2 holley blue pumps and then show time.

Happy man right now, she lives and sounds good.

Dave, when use your 383 phone do you speak in your Carb and listen at the tail pipe? :icon_smile_big:
Would have love to talk to you Dave, finaly I caught a break.

Getting ready to buy 9 quarts of oil and see if I can find something that will hold all the oil. After that will take her for a drive, then do a little more tuning. When I get someone to help install the hood I might be able to make a show with 41 Husk.

Now, if I can get the dam break lights off!

Crazy440

Pretty cool news, Dude.  When ya put'n the puffer, back on?
I used to have a handle on life....but it broke off.

cudaken

Crazy 440, that is some time off yet. Need to break in the 440 then have the money for other stuff. Not working now is put a dent in the budget.

Before the Huffer can go on I need to have the new gas tank tapped for duale fule pumps that I have and install the 1/2 ID fuel line I have. Next is the throttle cable, but looks like maybe I can make the stock one work. Then there is the Kick Down to the 727. Have part numbers for what should work, but a manual valve body would hold up better.

Carb's are sort on a unknown, have 10 hours on them and where drained of gas and sealed up. But it has been 2 year's now. We all know carb's don't like to sit.

Just happy she runs and sound's good. Still have bugs to work out, carb return sping is to lose and will not pull her to idle. Need to replaces the fliter I just blew the seal on and other stuff. Main thing she sound's good.

Thats good to hear. Make sure the your 100% sure on the timing before you go beat on it!

cudaken

Shot the timing again last night Joe. Need to take a better look at the MP Chrome timing cover. Chrome is kind of blinding when the light hits it. Should be at 10 before TDC. Here is a little I will install the new fliter and take her for a spin.

I am sure you know this mark it with something you can wipe off.  Also mark the timing mark with something white.  That is how I had to do mine.  The chome was very hard to deal with.  Of course you may already know this.

BTW YES I AM CRAZY :yesnod:

Hee, Hee, Hee, Tom and sick as well. ;D If i was not busy telling you how to polish your block my Charger would be done. ;D

Tom, that was one of the things they threw me off when I first started the money pit and melted the plug wires and blisted on the right inner fenders. Something white had got on the balancer and with the glare from the tab I thought it was in time, NOT. :icon_smile_big:
