I would be pissed too if somebody used one of my shows as a sting operation. I deffintley agree with what Ozzy said about how the sherriff seems lazy. :Twocents:

I thought this a great idea. I guess some people would rather leave the criminals out free. Oh, that is until them or their loved ones get hurt.

:iagree:

I'm for that type of sting, but to use someones name without permission is wrong and illegal in some places. It also adds fuel to the stereo types hatered against rock bands.

:eyes: Speaking of lazy...Ozzy would be where without Sharon and Randy Rhodes pulling him out of the bottle and making him musically relevant again?

I don't believe Ozzie said those things attributed to him in the article.

Oz hasn't been able to string that many coherent words together since the late 60s.

But he's rich.....

Quote"Instead of holding a press conference to pat himself on the back," says Osbourne, "Sheriff Laney should be apologizing to me for using my name in connection with these arrests. It's insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job."

And then he promptly dumped a bucket of water on his head to hide the fact that he had pissed himself.

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

So what if they used his name to catch criminals? Ozzy had nothing to do with it & anyone with half a brain will know that. I like Ozzy, but do you think they'd have caught these people if they used some classical music composer's name on the free ticket give-away? It has to look real, & it wasn't laziness to set up a sting like this, just creative. The reality of it is that the people dumb enough to fall for the free ticket give-away are the same type of people who drive with 10 pounds of illegal drugs in their trunk, speed with a broken tail light, & then wonder why they got pulled over & arrested.

I tried that same sting with a member here but it turned out his warrants had been cleaned up. I was looking forward to the reward.

Loved Ozzy in 1970 and 1971, but the shell that was left from the years of partying really wasn't worth the effort except as a revenue generator for third parties or those trying to close the gap in anthropology. Sharon is more of a Jane Goodall than promoter.
