Remember those 87-car pileups they always had at the beginning of CHiPs? I remember a few years ago here in Oregon a similar thing happened during a dust storm. I don't know how many vehicles were involved but it wasn't 100+ like this one.

Actually, Ponch was there on the over pass mooning traffic when it started, then fadded into the fog. They just forgot to mention that :D  :moon:

I think Ponch was getting his Teeth Whitened and John called out sick, because he hated playing second fiddle behund a Latino.  Those pileups were cool

i think i read somewhere that they never drew their guns on "CHiPs".

Here it is  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CHiPs

"The only character on the series to ever draw his firearm on camera was Baricza (Brodie Greer). He did so twice: Once (his radio car's Ithaca 37 shotgun) in the episode, "Rainy Day"[2], where the CHiPs conduct a felony traffic stop of a motorhome-based rolling casino; the second time while being attacked by a karate-trained vehicle burglar named Billy (played by Danny Bonaduce) in the episode, "Karate".[3] In that episode, Billy (armed with nunchaku), gains the upper hand on Officer Baricza, at which point Baricza feels he has no other choice but to draw his weapon (a large framed Smith & Wesson revolver). Billy then runs in retreat to a waiting getaway van. "

They are starting to release the Chips seasons on DVD. HERE is season one.

I think it's awesome that they're re-releasing a bunch of the TV shows from the 70's on DVD. Quality stuff that you don't see these days...and seeing all the cool cars that were cruising the streets as everyday rides is just a bonus for me. :icon_smile_cool:
Right now, I'm on season two of The Rockford Files. TOO COOL! :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Actually, Ponch drew his gun once.  That was the only time in 7 yrs that any cop on that show did.
