Oh yea, Callahagn the Dumbass is going to be gone once this season is over.  THANK GOD.

I say Osbourne needs to offer Turner Gill the job.

Kansas will be destroyed again by Nebraska next year, don't worry. ;)

I think that Oklahoma State is going to give KU a run for its money this year in Big XII basketball. I went to the OSU basketball game last night and I was impressed. I've been disappointed before though. Especially after a 15-1 start last year and then only winning 7 games after that.

Oklahoma State football on the other hand has once again made me ashamed to be a student at OSU. How the hell do you blow a 21 point lead over Texas in the 4th Quarter and lose by 3? I give up. It was the most heartbreaking game that I have ever went to.

The only reason Nebraska lost that bad is because the interstate was probably shut down for construction between Leavenworth, KS and Lincoln, NE. The players couldn't make it to practice........ :smilielol:

I thought it was because they didn't show up  :shruggy:....they did score 39 though. KU did nothing but run in the 4th. I was hopping they would put up more......we know they didn't let up on KU over the years. KU hasn't won 9 in a row since 1909 :o

Rick, I see your assessment and knowledge of college FB is as accurate as your production and shipping estimations. NU has put put out a quality product for years with millions of satisfied fans and is highly thought of across the country. From what I read about Laysons....well you've heard it all before I'm sure.
"We're working on it." seems to be a common answer from Bill Callahan too.

And I would think that if anyone knows about the futility of a FB program and getting shelled by huge scores it would be a Jayhawk fan (or at least those that aren't johnny come latelys). Lord knows most of the NU records have come against them. So I guess 76 points in one game almost makes up for all the years of fun we had at your expense.

Mangino has done a nice job for you and put together a good team. Win out this year and he'll finally be over .500 as a coach. Keep that EMT close to his side. We want Mark to be safe for when major FB programs come calling.

Congrats to the imaginary blue chickens on your second victory over NU since 1968. I think that brings your total to 23 now in the last 109 meetings. :2thumbs:

Best of luck against MU. Golly gee you've already beaten Central Michigan, Southeast Louisiana, Toledo AND Florida International, let alone Baylor and NU. I'd be excited too after getting through that tough schedule. Missouri can't be too much after that. And I'm sure it's not too much of a concern the KU defense gave up 39 points and over 400 yards to a second stringer. Chase Daniel shouldn't be much of a problem for you guys.

In the end it's one loss by a bad NU team to a good KU team and when it's all said and done... we get a new coach, NU is still NU and KU is still.... a basketball school.

wow... do you need a steam iron to unwrinkle your panties after that?  took one too many swigs from the fanatacism bottle?

how about this, you talk about NU football in the first person dontcha?  you know, like "we went out and played a great game," "we sure did hold them on that 3rd down," "gee, I wonder what we will do in basketball now that it is a for sure thing that KU is going to kick our ass in both sports."

dude, take a chill pill... its just a joke.. your name was never inserted in Rick's response.  Let alone, you having to dog on the company he works for just because he slammed NU a tad.

You are right, this is the first win in a very long time, but dont you think that all the KU fans out there deserve to jibe back after all those fricken years of listening to all of the condescending NU fans talking about how great the football team is?  Well, guess what?  They suck now, and you have just got a taste of the crap we have all heard for years.  Life is not fair, but you guys deserve a little jibing back IMO.  Especially after all the crap I heard from NU fans when I went to KU.  The jokes are too numerous to count.  And by God, its good to be in the winner's seat for a change.  Your just pissed its not you all anymore.

Rant OFF!  And that is MR. BLUE CHICKEN TO YOU, CAPT. JEALOUSY.  :D  :nana: hehehehehe ROCKKKKKK CHALKKKKKK JAYHAWKKKKKKKK, KUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!

no worries dude, just wanted to make sure this thread was kept light... afterall...

"how do you keep the KU Football team from practicing in your front yard?  Put up a field goal post"

that is just one of the many, actually very funny, jokes I have heard in the past.

Yep...

Am I a Husker Fan? Yep.
Am I completly disgusted as to what has happened to the program under Pederson and Callahan. Yep.
Am I ashamed and embarrased by their performance. Yep.

Am I actually proud of what has happened at KU? Yep. I sincerely think Mangino has done one heck of a job at KU. (Frankly, I thought Mason did a pretty good job too but ran out of steam) I was at last year's game in Lincoln and watched a really gutty Kansas team hang in there, come back and force overtime. The writing was on the wall then...that was a good team becoming a great team.
As a Big 12 North and Big 12 fan, do I wish them well in a bowl game? Yep.
Do I think they can get by MU and then, probably, OU?....close but not quite yet but they will represent the conference well no matter what happens.

November 24th, 25th or 26th will be a red (no pun intended) letter day in Lincoln when Bill and Kevin are sent packing....

 with the tigers

Hey, us Tiger fans need a winning break too after all those years of suffering under Woody Widenhofer et al.  We've been football doormats in the Big8/12 (almost continually) since the IIGen Chargers were sitting new on Dodge Dealers' showroom floors.

I try not to be too boisterous in my fan support, since Missouri sports fans in general are rather used to seeing their teams snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  Remember CU's 5th Down?  Don Denkinger?  Jason Kidd's banzai drive? It just doesn't pay to get overly excited - they'll just break your heart more often than not.  I will, however, be watching the KU/MU game at Arrowhead with a tinge of optimism.
