Its no big deal. Everyone talking about how fast the imports are but bottom line is how fast for how long. The muscle cars have been kicking ass for a long time and continue to. I havent seen a rice burner yet that puts out high HP numbers that doesnt blow up sooner or later. No matter what you do or how much $ you spend  the 426 Hemi is still the king. Always has been and always will.


Reminds me of a friday night at the sonic sitting by the old 47 Dodge grain truck. Kid with his hat on backwards running his mouth every direction about everything parked there wanting to "drag".  Import car of some kind. Not really fast but after listening to his shit I told him I'd go home and get my log chain and come back and "Drag" him in the old 47. He laughed and then I said I'd drag him around the block!  He didnt say much more and walked off.

Well i when to a car lot to day looking at a beater truck for my cousin and this one kid cam up and asked me if i was the one who owned the orange charger and said yes i am,so we talked about my car and my 512 that im building for it and  well here is what he fed me

He told me that he has a eagle talon says that it is in full street trim and runs on pump gas has all kinds of upgrades diff heads cam turbo and some computer aided crap and says it has 700 hp and rev;s to 10,500 rpm ( wonder how long that engine will last)   i kinda thought that it was all bullshit and i didnt believe him. this kid is in his late 20's and supposedly works at an engine shop in indiana PA and says he dyno's those types of cars all the time and some are over 1000 hp and and are street driven      OH YEA and muscle cars are outdated now supposedly  and i was told that i better watch out cuase he is almost done with his project ( what do you guys think) 

Go back and challenge him to a drag race at your local 1/4 strip.  Tell him to put up or shut up, then when you beat him go up to him after the race and sarcastically say "Yea muscle cars are outdated."

As far as his car, you guys know the Eagle Talon is a Mopar, don't you? Don't quote me on this but I think they are basically a rebadged Mitsubishi Eclipse (or at least closely related) from back when Chrysler ind Mitsubishi were in bed together. They are very fast and handle nicely, especially the AWD turbo versions. There were times when I've been tempted to buy one but that's as far as it ever went because I always figured if I had to have a toy it was going to be a 2nd gen Charger. Any other application is too practical for a toy like this. Actually, I'd rather have a Dodge Stealth than a Talon.

Anyway, my point is don't dis on a car because its owner is a big-mouth moron, just tell the big-mouth moron to shove it sideways or to get some counseling because his momma apparently didn't hug him enough to provide him with adequate affirmation.

Well i think that is a little optimistic!! We WILL be outrun of some of these juiced up riceboilers!!! We just gotta face that!! I call them riceboilers of the same reason that they call our cars old pieses of junk!! difference in taste!!!
I have been out in the Supra this buddy of mine has, and it is just incredible fast, and i can just not see that my charger will keep up, even with 588 hemi/ T 56/ XV suspention, that i am building. Still want the Charger over ANY car though!

Don't worry. My 2005 Cummins Turbo Diesel eats rice with no problems. 1000 Ft. lbs. of torque is pretty hard to beat. I have an SRT 4 in the garage, 68 Cuda stroker small block, and 69 Hemi clone. When people come over and peak in the shop and garage, they don't pay any attention the little SRT 4(however it's a great work car), all they look at is the eye candy of the '60's muscle. But it's pretty funny when my 3/4 ton 4X4 kicks ricers asses. I LOVE the  look on their faces, just don't get any better than that!

this reminds me of a story when I worked autoparts.  this guy, of course had a mitsi eclipse (eagle talon), came in and asked me to come and look at this car as there was making some valvetrain noise.  I was like sure, I go out there and boom... there was a f&f car right in front of me with one of those huge a$$ wings on it.  I calmly asked why he had such a big wing.  He said downforce.  I said when, in the slalom or around a track.  He said that he has not done either, and I shrugged it off figuring my point was laid.  His friend asks which vehicle is mine.  (at the time) I told him it was the 87 ramcharger.  His friend stated loudly, "well where is the aerodynamics with that brick, what no wing?"  I then told him his friend this one thing.  "I never claimed my ramcharger to be fast, or furious, or a racecar; but you all do."  He did not like the response.

2 weeks later, I meet his friend at a stoplight with his own mitsi eclipse all f&f'd out.  This time the ramcharger was running, and the guy heard the cam loping.  I told him, again," hey, I never claimed that my ramcharger was a racecar, but i never did say it wasnt quick" and then I commenced to  do a huge burnout and took off burping them in second.  He didnt try to race me and let a car get in front of him.  And that was that.
