I posted a link about buying the 3 pieces for around 600.00 and I think that includes painted.  I have to call them back.  They are the same company that make the 71 Cuda grilles, and are found in the Mopar quarterly mag.  They are supposed to get back to me.  The problem seems to be this is new for them and they just started the painting process , like now.  I'll call them again and post the info.  The woman I talked to that answer the phone(Angela?) said a group buy would propably work but she had to pass the info along.

Just FYI: That top one is likely a Gunslinger piece (he and Tony trade) and it's aluminum. The bottom one is chrome plated plastic. Don't forget to check out our group buy through Gunslinger

Thanks troy,  I decided to go with my backup I piece, which was bent slightly from the end nearest the front bumper.  Took a few hours but i got it passably straight, and it will go on and not show the repaired area unless someone eyeballs it from the level of the bumper.   The I piece on the grill now matches the engine and tranny that are in the car.  (came off the same triple green 69 r/t parts car i bought in 83.

Well, I didn't say anything about the price...

I'm *reasonably* sure those are all manufactured by the same company so these other suppliers with lower prices likely have the 68 centers as well. From discussions with manufacturers in the past, the same mold is used for both pieces. They just use an insert to make the 69 version (which means the 68 version has to exist first).

Wow, that's an insane price      thanks for posting the other place that's cheaper.  the grill in my car is a cobbled up mess made from four different grills and a touch of balsa wood, super glue and jb weld     so this all helps me out alot.

Here is the email back I received from Charger Specialties about the 68 grills.  This was from November 1st.

hi,

The 68 grills are currently on hold ! we are not sure when we will be completing them. All i can suggest at this point is to check back with us in a few months..

How is it possible that no one, repeat, no one has come forward with buying the repro 69 grilles?  I've talked to and written the maker several times, and what do I have?  Nothing?   What the heck is going on?    I have money (some)  I have a need (greatly)  they make parts ( so they say) and I can't get info on one before I pay for it.  Boogles the mind.

Yea, there's one on there now, and they have 60.00 for shipping. Ain't doing it.  I'll pay the 200.00 min bid, but I want to see it , or talk to someone that has had one.  I'm not spending several hundred for a repro part and regretting it.

i'll admit they are kinda slow on getting back, but i got a 68 charger grill center today, and WOW. it is sweet. not sure if anyone else has gotten a 68 one yet, or if i'm first, but it looks very good to me

the 'cheap' 69 centers are all black plastic and will need painting. If the pic is accurate on the 995 expensive one, it is painted in 'original' fashion.

maybe thats why it costs so much.

I also contacted the one guy (Florida-Auto) who appeared to have gotten burned by PPR, and this is what I received.

"I did finally receive the grille after I filed a dispute with e-bay. It came about 6 weeks after I bought it. The fit and quality was good. Pay by credit card so if you never receive it you can decline the charges. Hope this helps."

Just putting this out there for those who may be interested.  I am thinking of getting one, but am leery of buying from them after reading some negative things about them.

they actually used one of my 68 grills as a template for the repro grill. so it was a "gift".. not done through ebay etc. i think they just started "selling them" before they had the finalized product ready to go. there were a couple flaws and they corrected them while still listing them on ebay. that is probably why they have gotten delayed so long.. i'll let you guys know how the doors and buckets look when i get them. yes the entire grill is black, but for what the price would be, i think it's worth $700 to throw some argent silver on it. very nice quality part

It would be nice if they would address the problems because they've created a situation more vague that what existed before. The advice given by Florida-Auto to use a credit card sounds pretty good. I sure wouldn't be sending them a cashier's check.

I just talked to Angela over there yesterday to find out where the hell my grill is.  She said I am supposed to get it next week.  She said there was a problem with the tooling for the 68 center section so that has caused delays.  I haven't heard anything about them going out of business.

That sounds like a familiar creedo for them as i've seen in other threads. None the less, thank you for the response.  I'm guessing just a number for them and no site?
Didn't Jude (Charger_Aficionado) work for them or something a while back.
