I know there are some mixed reviews about my hood set up but  I love it. I just got the car running after the accedent in Jan. It so nice to have my baby back!!!!!!!!

Harlow

I like it alot better than the six pack hood scoop.

I'm not a big fan of putting hood scoops on cars they didn't come with , but that does look good   :2thumbs:

I like it!

I have a hood for my 1968 Charger with a hole cut in it for a tunnel ram that is no longer being used.  This would be a good option to go with.

Badass! I like the hole set up, big rims, T/A scoop and passenger side mirror. How much cooler can it get!?  :2thumbs:

Edit:
For those who don't like it, the way I see it is that they are used to seeing chargers being built as DOH cars or back to stock condition. I like to think out of the box.
Awesome set up once again!

Love the hood and wheels and the front spoiler...although not usually a big fan of the door inserts being painted, but your car makes it work :2thumbs:

Did you buy the hood as is from a vendor or did you make the hood using a flat fiberglass hood with this scoop?

mikes68charger

Thanks Guys!!!  I tried to make it look diffrent, I go to the local Nifty Fifty's Car show and there is another red 68 charger there with the resto look. I got a dodge to be diffrent, Cant stand Chevy's because every one has one.   The hood is a fiberglass hood with the fiberglass scoop added. I would tell you the company but I'm still trying to get some money back from them because the hood made bubbles once out in the sun.  I love the Argonsal low gloss look, it goes with the top.  I was thinking of powedercoating the centercaps and center 3 spoke spinners gloss black to Mach the car. I want to lower it more in the rear, But I already have an 2 in lowering block in the rear, I had no Ideal the superstock springs jack the back up sooooo high.

I'm hopping in 2 years to put an 392 new age Hemi .

In my mind I thought that scoop on that car would look horrible, but now that I see the pictures it actually looks pretty cool.

I like it a lot, nice work.

I kick myself everytime I think about it, but I never got any photos of a 1971-1972 fiberglass, air grabber bubble that was on my old '69 Charger. The two recessed areas where the turn signals are, were narrowed so the bubble sat flush to the hood. The previous owner had done it, but I liked it & knew I wasn't going to see any other Chargers with that hood.

Dude... VERY NICE - way to think outside the box with that car - my only change and this is obviously subjective would be to lower the stance all around about 1-1.5" otherwise I think you have one really beautiful ride on your hand. Love the wheels too - are they Shelby wheels?

Mike is right. I was thinking the same thing. It is amazing how much better the car can look with the right stance.

Yes they are custom made are they Shelby wheels, 18X10 in the rear and 18X8.5 in the front. I was able to get 305's in the rear!!!

You know your ride is diffrent when most people don't even know its a charger.  The hood is something I thought up while in Iraq. and could not get it out of my mind.  I will lower it, I'm just tyring to figure out how to lower the rear more with out bigger blocks,   I'm glade to hear all the thumb's up!!!! This is the pic before the wreck, what a difference.

305's really. . . Did you have to move your springs in? Any rubbing? Did you bend in your wheel lips? I have 18X10 wheels and have not purchased tires yet. I was going to go with 295 45 18, but if I can fit 305's that would be cool. What brand tire are they?

Thanks. Tim

Would any company in US do this for me or would I need to buy hood and scoop separatly and do it myself?  :scratchchin:

Looks awsome! Way better than the six pack scoop  :2thumbs:
Do you have any close ups how it fits into the depressions or from underneath the hood?

Very nice. Looks like it belongs on the car, flows well with the hood lines. :punkrocka:

i would buy a hood like that. i've always wanted to do a AAR hood on a charger, i think that would look killer. that air grabber is a little similar. mikes68charger, i neevr cared for the T/A style hood as much, but it does look good on yoru car, i especially like the contrast of the black hood against the paint, that is sweet.. i know the 68-70 charger was "perfect the way it was" blah blah, but i will still never understand why they didn't at least have hood "options" like they did on alost every other car made during that time

Or how about a '68 Hemi Dart/Barracuda scoop??? They fit the hood much better.....the shape matches the hood indents. :2thumbs:

I've also wondered how well a hood would look if the indentations were cut out and inverted as scoops.....with the slits opened up as well.... :scratchchin: Probably not good? hahaha

I agree! The T/A hoodscoop is one of my very favorites. That would have been great to have an  "Air Grabber" option on 2nd Gen's. Ma Mopar missed the mark on that one.
