In 69 ,what was the difference between a Charger and a R/T?
God must love stupid people....he made a sh**load of 'em....

Matco tools...guaranteed for a lifetime. Just not a human lifetime.

RT's were high performance Chargers.

Bigger engines and heavier duty suspesion
Its no disgrace being poor.  Its just inconvienient.

As mentioned, the 440 Magnum was standard and the Hemi was the only optional engine in 69.  The Torqueflite was the standard transmission and a four speed was a no cost option.  Bigger brakes and heavier springs, shocks,  and swaybar.  Exhaust tips were inlcuded except in California.  Larger battery was included and last but not least, the RT badging and bumblebee stripe.

4 speed was a no cost option even though it meant you needed a Dana rear?

:icon_smile_big:  lol, well when you look at it that way.  The transmission was no extra charge but the axle package would add a little change to the bottom line.

Also, the SE appearance package was available on the regular Charger as well as the RT.

SE package in 1969 included the leather insert seats, woodgrain steering wheel, a woodgrain applique on the dash, the hood mounted turn signal indicators, the lighting package, chrome trim on the pedals, an upgrade hubcap and the SE badges on the C pillars.  In 69 (and 68), the map pockets on the door were standard.
