I am sure many of you have looked at Chris's 69 Charger website and drooled over the pictures of his car.  He did an excellent job of restoring it and has a nice narrative of the restoration with links and pictures.  I really like the color and he says on his site that it is painted with Dupont Spectramaster Red Code # RS673K.  Does anyone know if this is a standard charger color or just a mix he might have made up?

The above is a link to his website.

I tried once sending a message to his site but never did hear back.  Probably got lost on the net somewhere.  Anyway, thanks.

Rich, thanks for the compliments.  Never did get a message though :rotz:

The short URL for the site is www.6t9charger.com

That color is a custom color & was not an original 69 color.   It closely resembles Hemi orange (code V2 available in spring of 69) but this color has no metalflake & is brighter orange.

I know the name of the color is SpectraMaster Red but honestly there is very little red in it.  It is a really nice color & changes with different light.  In bright sun the color is pretty much blinding.
On the site you can see the different variations of the color in different lights...very hard to photograph.

Thanks for the reply.  The Dupont Spectra Red is a very pleasing color.  I had noticed that it sort of changes in different ambient lighting conditions as you mention.   I particularly like the underhood work you have done.  I have saved every picture you have posted of your engine compartment and am using them as references for my restoration.  My car is a 318/904/8-1/4 and I am working toward a 440/4-SP/8-3/4.  So, for all intents and purposes, I had no idea how things should be configured and look in a big block RT.  I think I do now.  I will initially be running 15 inch steels painted body color with dog dishes.  I finally got the dog dishes from BEA Parts in stainless.  They sure look nice.

The Charger Forum has been immensely helpful.  I'am not sure how I could have collected the requisite information without it.  My project is a multi-year effort but I'am in no big hurry.  I know I will eventually get there with all the help and encouragement from everyone on the forum.
