ok. I just can say this:

green wire is one side brake/turn/hazzard function ( brighter filament )

brown wire is teh same on oposite side.

Black is parking light ( lower filament ), license plate light, sidemarkers ( on rear, fronts are black traced yellow )

Gray is constant positive to trunk light

Violet is back up lamps

blue is fuel sender.

That's the code on 3rd gens and I don't think diff on earliers.

Dunno the colors available on painless wires. The fact is you need at least those 6 wires coming from rear harness

ok, then make this... check which color wires matches from painless wiring on to turning switch harness plug... in that way you'll find which wires matches with brown and dark green on to painless harness and the we'll narrow the hunt.

Noticed on a 69 wiring diagram I have, trunk light wire runs separatelly so rear harness should have at least 5 wires. Narrowed both blinkers light then will need to figure just three. Rest of wires will be easy just feeding with 12 volts and find what turns on.
