by checking this combo and letting me know your opinions.  This will be in a 77 400 with 727 trans going into a 74 charger SE.  Motor for this example will be .030 over.  heres the combo(prices included just for gigles)

Comp cams timing chain CCA 2104 56.99

B&M flexplate- BMM 10237-$79.95

I will using the stock heads as well, might have them ported and polished if money in budget allows.  machine and rebuild cost will be as followed
Bored to .030 over (if needed) $120
Hot tanked - $60
New cam bearings- $80 installed
Clevite Main bearings installed 80 bucks(depending of undersize)
Melling High volume oil pump- MELM63HV- 61.95

Hopefully I can make 350 or high on the HP side and still have a streetable and durable engine.  Id rather sacarfised power for durability. If i need to clarify anything, let me know

thanks

by a dremel tool and port and polish them yourself if you want to save some cash.  you can do it.

lots of tutorials out there.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

too much, you will spend less waiting on the new 440source aluminum ones coming out.

The parts combo looks OK,
but,
If you'd rather sacrifice "power for durability", then in my opinion, it might be best to revisit the machining/parts budget ?

All I saw was  "hot tank  $60."
                   " bored to .030 if needed  $120."

How much to R & R the new Pistons ?
Pinfit for above ?
Balancing, the KB's are NOT stock weights ?
Are you resizing the Rods ?
Are you polishing the Crank ?

Also; Rings, Rod Brg's, Overhaul Gskt. set, ?

Just some things you may consider, to have a look at, while it's apart ?
