i think its awesome.  i wish my full size was a hybrid with gas sitting at 3.10 a gallon.

 The dodge hype has a 25% and 40% improvment in MPG for Hwy and City driving respectivly. I'd say that's pretty good, but i wonder what the price increase is and how the math works out to recoup the cost?

well, i average 12 mpg city, and 16 hwy (going 65) 18 (going 55) 20 (going 45).

with a hybrid that would be 16.8 mpg city,  18 hwy (going 65),  22.5 (going 55), and 25 going (45).

I average 275 miles per tank of fuel.  I drive around 16-17,000 miles per year. That is 62 fill ups average per year.  It takes 24 gallons to fill up my tank. It costs around $72 to fill up my tank.  This is $4,464 per year.

If the overall increase in mileage will average out to 30% (based on city and highway percentage increases [rough average]), this has increased the range of my truck to 357.5 miles per tank of fuel.

Now, I travel the same amount of mileage per year.  I have to do 47 fill ups (rough average) at $72 per tank, equals $3423.77.  I have saved $1,040 in one year.

If I keep the vehicle over 8 years, that is $8,320.00.

The question is now, how much is the hybrid option?
