Run an extension cord out to the tree and spilit the ends( separate ground from the hot wire, get some chicken wire on the ground under the tree and hook the ground wire to the chiken wire , now loop the hot wire up in the tree so its just hanging there drill a hole through an apple and rap the hot wire through that hole and around the apple and plug it in then wait. When that big beast bites that apple youll will light that thing right up and he wont come back after any more apples from that tree. There will be moose hair just glowing for a few seconds :2thumbs:

I assume that would be fed from a non-GFI protected source. :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

just call Chuck, problem solved.

Do you have Chuck's number? ;D ;D

Anyway, they came back two times overnight.  The orchard is right next to the house so the motion sensors turn on the lights when they arrive.  On their last visit, they took off running for the first time when I started pelting them with BBs in rapid succession.  Maybe they're starting to get the hint.  I do stay right on the front portch, by the open door, in case they decide to turn on me.  We're going into town shortly and will look in a farm and feed store for deterants.  I doubt if they carry "Wolf Wizz" but it's worth a try.  I may just have to order it on line.  BTW, they're not eating the apples, (already harvested) they're actually ripping the branches right off the trees and eating them.  These are miniature trees and the damage is getting really bad.   Bob

I can safely say this is one problem I don't think will ever materialize in Queens, NY.

You never know!!!  The more you keep driving Mr. Angry around, the hotter the New York climate will become (buy Al Gores new book) and it may become an attractive area for new species to inhabit.  Oh but wait, moose like colder climates.  Possibly the dinosaurs may reappear.  And you think I've got problems!!

Check on line and see if anyone in your area raises wolfs.  Ask them if they have any wolf hair.  That would last longer than wolf wiz and you could probably get it for free.

OMG you guys are SO creative!! car batteries, charged chicken wire, spot lights!! that poor moose doesn't have a chance!! WOW BUt I like the wolf wizz the best and I really think it will work!! especially if fox wizz will scare squirrels why won't wolf wizz scare a moose! AND I think it is the easiest too!!    :yesnod:

Moose can, and will kill you. Especially a cow moose with young to protect.

Do not provoke them. If you value your orchard more than seeing them enjoy it, fence it off in a way that keeps them out.  :Twocents:
