:shruggy: Someone told me they were different. I held it up to my 72 fender off the car and they look identical. Anyone please???

73/74 wheel wells are cut higher than a 72.  Ive also heard one of the bolt holes is different but I never switched them to find out myself.

jimster70

The inner wells or the outer fender wheel lip is higher? If it is the inner fender wells that would be ok.

The actual wheel opening is higher on the 73/74.  Measure the top of the opening to the top of the fender on both.

RD

the 73/74 wheel well opening is wider in length from the front of the opening towards the rear.

BUT YES, THEY WILL FIT AND LINE UP WITHOUT ANY ISSUES.

yes, I did this.

And also found a 73 fender on a 72. For a driver, without chrome molding, no one would notice.

Mr_fixit

The bolt hole for the reinforcing rod is in a different spot for 71-72 vs 73-74. And there's other differences where the fender bolts behind the headlight bucket area. If you look you can tell the difference when the wrong year is installed.

some diff but definitelly will fit without big issues.

also would need the right fender to front valance inner splash shield... they are diff shape and size

Of course won't be able to fit same molds, and if you use 73/74 mold will be diff from the rear ones ( diff profile )
