I have a 70 charger with a 440. I know it has the right k-frame for the 440, However I have only about a half inch clearance between the original exhaust manifold and the shock tower on the passanger side. I ordered new motor mounts( just the rubber part) and took the steel part of the motor mounts off of a 383 motor that was in another 70 charger. My question is, are the steel parts of the motor mounts diffrent for a 383 and 440. could I have swithced them to the wrong side? Any pics or advice would be helpful. Thanks Troy

Big block mounts for cars are the same, I stole these pics from Ebay.

Thanks for the pics. These look like the ones I have. Could you tell me from the picture witch one of the steel motor mounts mounts to witch side of the motor?

Ghoste

The one on the right in the photo goes on the drivers side of the engine block.

Not to mess up this thread, but I didn't know where else to ask...

I have a broken motor mount in my 69 Charger. 383. Headers (if that matters...).

Where can I get motor mounts? The guy working on the car at the garage seemed to think they were a special order or something...but I got a pair for my Challenger on e bay.

Should I look on e bay, or NAPA?

Thanks

You can get them at any parts store for under $20. Check out this link to keep from breaking them in the future.
