  Why?
because the lines match up,.. it's the correct era,.. it's areodynamicly sound, cool air adds H.P.

and personally i think the raised T/A scoop over the depressions looks awesome.
but if you prefer the big assed six-pack style or no scoop on what is normally the clean hoods of chargers fine...

anyone save the 1970 BF Goodrich Radial T/A ad the black and white drawing with the minilite wheels, spoiler and the T/A scoop?...
if so please post it here..
i can't wait to see that scoop actually installed.  :yesnod:

You mean line right? Like centerline? Surely not the scallops in the hood.
Aerodynamically sound? Maybe on a Challenger but hey, ask Chrysler. They have a wind tunnel. I don't.
Cool air adds HP is correct but who knows if any cool air is even going to go in it givens it's rise and the Chargers blatantly UN aerodynamic front end. Save for Daytonas. Again: Ask Chrysler.
Correct era? Yeah, ya got me there.

I doubt if paint is gunna help sell the look. At least to me but post another picture once it's painted. Just don't expect me to do a 180.

Please include minute and second mark of the video to explain your point. At 13 seconds I was bored and bailed. On second thought....forget it altogether.

before this gets way too far O/T (no disrespect to Camaros and p-51s :icon_smile_big:) ....back to my question

Who made the hood and do they make one for the 70 Charger?

The scallops are a little different o nthe 70...I think I might see if they would move the scoop as far back on the hood as possible. VFN also makes a 5" T/A that I'm thinking about.....I hear you guys that a charger looks best without a scoop, it's just this 700hp bullet is gonna need more air and more room for an air filter :shruggy:

I gotta agree with old TBG.  :o

That TA spoiler will mess up that gorgeous blue car. Take the hood off when racing...heck maybe add an Air Grabber.  :yesnod:

MAGNUMCHARGER

wow,

That's about the prettiest Yellow second gen I've seen. My car was originally Y1 with the hood black out, call outs and a go-wing.

I'm thinking the T/A or the taller 5" t/a might look good on mine, the 70 hood has different scallops than the 68-69 which are parallel to the hood centerline rather than at an angle. And I think they are also a little further forward giving the 70 a little more room in the rearward "flat" secton of the hood for the T/A base. I'm also thinking about the 5" that VFN makes because this motor wants A LOT of air and I may put a nitrous plate on it along with at least a 4" aircleaner.

What to do?

I'd like to know more about that 70 RR cowl/air grabber...was that just a standard RR hood modded to fit a 70 Charger? It got me thinking that IIRC the 69 Daytona used the 70 hood and fenders, not sure what hood the 70 superbird used?//

I actually like the looks of the hood on this '70. Typically I don't like it when people screw with Charger hoods but this one looks good IMO. What probably would have worked nice on a Charger (better than a scoop anyway) is cowl induction like you see on some of the GM stuff but I guess Ma Mopar wasn't real interested in cool air intake for the Chargers.
