Key light timer switch

My '68 came with an optional (I think) dash light that mounted right above the ignition switch.  There was a timer in the circuit that turns the light off after a given amount of time and it plugs into the dash harness.  It's a three prong deal that looks like a flasher.  I unplugged mine several years ago because it felt too warm to me.  Of course I can't find it now and I would like to locate one.  I'm thinking that the absense of it being in the circuit may be the cause of the rest of my courtesy lights not working.  I've got a new dash harness in there now and would like everything to work.  I never much cared before and as I recall the time frames of me unplugging the timer and the lights going out are pretty close.  Any ideas where I might find one?  I don't see anything in the Y/O catalog and no luck at NAPA.   Thanks, Bob

I got mine at napa # ar613. They were used on models in to the 90's I believe.

im guessing if this "timer" was bad it would keep the courtesy lights on or prevent them from going on ?   im still solving electrical gremlins and this looks like a good start

that is the delayed ign light timer- yes it will get warm due to a thermo heater in it.
