Ray was an old time wing car guy, and a fantastic one at that.  He'd been having health problems for a while now, but took a serious turn for the worse last week.  Ron Plaskin was kind enough to bring by his old yellow car to the nursing home, according to his son john, and ray loved it.  Mom and I will be taking the B5 car tomorrow for the service.

I did.  His sons put a hot wheels-scale yellow superbird in his casket, and they were really happy that we brought the car.  a lot of people there remembered his car, and how fondly he remembered it.

it was as nice of a service as one can have when you're saying goodbye to a friend you've had since before your third birthday.

i forgot to mention as an epilogue that driving back from the funeral a rock kicked up and broke the windshield...that kind of year, i guess.
