Well. it is a tattoo. Let me explain this before you pass judgement. Shelby has never been in any trouble at all. She is a distinguished honor roll student. She has been taking college courses since 10th grade. And she is graduating Jan 17th. She has a job, student teaches, volunteers to teach art classes on Sat and does other volunteer work. She came to me about the tattoo. So she says to me, "I don't smoke, I don't drink. I don't do drugs. Let me rebel a little. " If that is the worse thing she does as a teenager. What am I to say. She's great daughter.

Sounds like you did a great job raising her Jacky, you can be proud of yourself. I agree with the others the guy girl ratio is a bit off or was this just a group of friends and did the dates of the others come later? Here in Holland we don't do stuff like prom or homecoming, kinda sucks I would have loved that. Btw you have to tell the guys some time that when wearing a suit with a 3 button style jacket to not button up the lowest button. It just looks wrong. I prefer 2 button (English) style jackets anyways, in which case you still don't button up the last button. Btw love her car! It's very cool.

I get grief for letting my boys dye there hair weird colors but I got the same pluses all A's not trouble ever so I think its a small price to pay for a good kid.  God for you for seeing what you have!

I wasn't passing a bad judgment about the tat.  I have two myself.  I got the first one when I was 19.  Like it was mentioned...I knew she was too young to get one. 


talk about kids getting awards...My middle one got an achievement award the first week of school for being such a polite kid, always having a smile on her face, and having great conflict resolution and being a helper.  A few weeks later my oldest got an award for basically the same thing plus doing such a great job in her reading and class work.  It makes me think that they just give these things out for things the kids really should be doing anyway.

well in one of my supervision books i'm reading for my sgt's test.... it says that if you reward good behavior... you (should??? ) keep getting it... if you punish bad behavior... well you get the point!!  I think it's good to instill at at a young age, MOTIVATION, a good work ethic, and an ambition to want to succeed.  i know what you are saying though... about just giving stuff away to everybody and for stuff WE all.. "JUST DID" ... in school because it's what you should be doing... not cause your gonna get an reward!!!
