McLaren blew it (F1)

I know that Formula one (F1) is not so popular like in Europe but maybe some of you have followed this season.
So, season is finished and McLaren lost everything: team championship and driver championship. I would say that they deserved that - too many conflicts among the team this year, especially between Alonso and Hamilton. A lot of people familiar with F1 are convinced that Hamiltom was privileged this season and I believe that too. Sorry to UK members, I was McLaren fan all these years but I don't like dirty games. You know old one "..if there is a smoke, there should be a fire too.." Even yesterday Hamilton's car was faster about 1 second per circuit (compared to Alonso) but he made some funny mistakes, maybe too much pressure for young driver.
Opposite to them, Ferrari was the team through whole season and they proved that on the last race, from the start to the finish.
"Even in the bad times everyone, everyone was sticking together, and we didn't give up...I think we had perfect teamwork." that was Kimi's words.
And after all, nobody can tell that Kimi did not deserve to win the championship.  :2thumbs:

McLaren lost everything? They got caught cheating and had to give up everything. You somewhat make it sound as if it might have been out of McLaren's control. When I lived in the U.S., I loved to watch F1 on Sunday mornings. Then race coverage was switched to Speedvision, which my cable company didn't have. I haven't seen an F1 race in a long time, but I still read about it and hope to have the opportunity to enjoy it again in the future.

McLaren got what they deserved.  Alonzo is a whiny little girl!  And the Prancing Horse is #1 again!

Have to admit that I was cheering for Hamilton to be Alonzo, but his mistake in China and yesterday's race was hilarious!  I'm more than pleased Kimi won it all, and proud of Masa!  What a team player!

Im happy Kimi won...I was going for him the whole time. And yea, too bad for McLaren :icon_smile_big:

LOL, what do ya expect?  Alonzo was trying to backstab his OWN teammate!!

That car was insane.

They might make faster cars now with more brute-force horsepower, etc.  But the F1 was such a perfectly uncompromised hunk of automobile . . . I'll take it over whatever else might puts up better number now.

McLaren unrespect the pilots rank.... ALL teams have 1st and 2nd pilot, and McLaren"Team" never act like a TEAM with Alonso, like Renault did and making him win 2 championships ( and Renault the builders Championship ).

I'm allways with pilots, don't care the team. I did like, Alaint Prost, Demon Hill, Heinz Harald Frenzen ( sp? ) years ago, now Alonso. But I did know that was to happen when he switched to McLaren. Brittish and Spanish never have been good friends ( except on some Football teams now LOL )

:iagree: Exactly! If McLaren pilots were cooperating at the start of the last race, they might have blocked Kimi and than it could be whole different story. On the other side, both Ferrari pilots have fantastic start with Masa blocking Hamilton and Kimi pulling ahead. That was great teamwork! I think some will remember that during season we had few times Ferrari 1st and 2nd, but every time their pilots were just cruising around until finish and not changing order. When Kimi got his theoretical chance to win the championship, than Masa was 2nd pilot supporting Kimi the best he can and he has all credits for that! Masa is the great team player!  :2thumbs:

thats why i like nascar, no team bs like that, mean look gordon and johnson beating the crap out of each other to win at martinsville this weekend.  and now they are neck in neck for the championship. Why do you think all of the open wheel driveres want to come to nascar.

you can be agree or not but if you are there you are accepting the way to play. Beside that, on Nascar yous couple of brands running, for a while on F1 at least 11 brands are running and a team work is necessary to work for the brand.

A bad movement of one of the pilots will make team loose points for the team championship

F1 guys race in the rain, right?

Nacho-RT74

yeah, race never stop, and just if becomes REALLY DANGEROUS without visibility, then enters the pace car. If rain begins teams change tires on pits and is part of the race strategy, changing everything stated from the begining

Really?

A race team caught "Cheating?" Such harsh words...ah, how about a more palatable,politically-correct phrase such as the "Hill Billies"of NASCAR refer to that situation as? they dun cal it 'tunin' :smilielol:

That is real racing, IMO.  If you have to stop racing, because of the rain, then your a  :loser:
