Hey guys,
The 1969 Dodge TSBs are now available online at this link;

Special thanks to HemiGeno for letting me borrow his collection long enough to scan them.  :cheers:

There are a few that are missing, so if you have any of them please contact Gene or myself.

They were cool to read for sure. I thought the absence of Daytona info was interesting, maybe the TSBs for them came out in 1970?

I am still looking for sets of 1970 TSBs, Plymouth & Dodge.  :yesnod:

So just curious Chris, but do you have any F6 Chargers listed as being built before January 1st 69? And do you have an F6 car before the first V2 orange car?

TSBs?

Technical Service Bulletins. They show changes / additions / edits - chapter to chapter for the FSM. (Factory Service Manual)

Some TSBs come out way after the model year was over due to maintanence or service problems that cropped up.

The earliest documented F6 car I have has an SPD of 2/6/69.  I have a few VIN #'s that are a little earlier but with no tag info ...only owner word of mouth.

The earliest V2 car I have is 4/23/69 but I also have this car which has an SPD of 1/21/69....tag is hard to read & a bit suspect....might be Y2 but looking at other Y2 tags, the pointed "v" section of the letter Y starts in the middle of the #2...looking at this tag the pointed section looks to be more at the bottom of the #2

Glad to help out, but you deserve a :cheers: also, since I'd have never had the patience to scan all those pages in like that.  Are we still just missing the D69-23-21 TSB and the directory sheets for D69-23-24 (that we know of)?

That sure looks like a V2 to me also, Chris.  The interesting thing is, the transmittal from Chrysler's Engineering Department out to the St. Louis & Hamtramck plants giving the instruction for Sales Code V2 was dated March 6, 1969.  Knowing how inexact Chrysler could sometimes be I'm reluctant to say it could NEVER have happened; but if the documents I have are correct, the assembly plants didn't even know that Sales Code V2 existed on 1/21/69.  If it should have been coded anything, it should have been a 99 paint color (which was actually a little different from V2).

Until recently I had always though that the V2 and F6 green were released around the same time. But apparently it was about a 2-3 month gap between those two colors.

:yesnod:

Almost 4 months, if you count most of November, all of Dec/Jan/Feb & part of March...

Regarding the F6 Spring Green, I will have to check the date of the Dealer promotional paperwork I have to see when that came out for the dealers. :scratchchin:
