OK,
I am putting a 71' R/T bulge hood on my 73' Rally. My Rally is factory with hood pins & outside hood release, no inside release.
The R/T hood does not have the holes for the hood pins, seems to have came factory like that, no Bondo or filler over the hood pin locations.
Question is,
Am I safe using just the hood latch with the R/T hood without using the hood pins?
I hate to drill holes in a clean factory R/T hood for the pins.
Could a R/T hood have pins deleted? If hide-aways were used? :scratchchin:

I drilled holes in my air grabber hood, my 73 Rallye had inside pull on it.

If I remember right the hoods have the location for the pins already marked on the underside?  Dont they?

I like the hood pins.  So I would drill them.

Perfectly safe with just the hood latch and hook.  Hood pins (J45) were optional and were used with the latch and hook in place, so they were a cosmetic option. There was no correlation with the inside/outside hood release and hood pin option that I know of...  you could get it either way.

yes... from bottom they are visible. Frame is already cut, just need to cut the outer skin... fender also provide the locations already cut
