 :scratchchin:
My 68 needs all new wiring.  I'm planning on ordering from Y-One after reading several posts.  However, I don't want to tear down the entire dash to do it.  I"ve got the guage cluster out, but I can't reach the firewall where the bulkhead connector is with my arm.  For those of you who have done this, do you feed the new dash harness into the hole for the bulkhead connector from the engine compartment?  There just isn't any room underneath my dash w/o removing the steering column, brake pedal assembly, etc.  This 68 has a/c so it is very crowded underneath the dash and I can't get my arm up to the firewall.  Any advise is appreciated.

I switch my bulkhead connector now when I did the new wiring. I only loose the steering column (and dash panels) and push it from engine bay and with the under dash harness I could pull it down and swith all the connectors. Do it one and one, it's my tip. I also have a A/C car but it's possible to switch the bulk connector without take hole your car apart.

And when you put it place again, you can steer it in place with the under dash harness and from engine bay careful pull it in place with a little tong.

I bought all my wiring harness from Evans wiring, Perfect and they have good prices and fair shipping rates!!!

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

  Thanks for the tip.  I checked out Evans, but they don't do dash harnesses.  Did you use the Y-One for the dash harness??   It comes with new bulkhead connector.

I think jacks auto parts may have dash harness. I didn't change the dash harness because it's still looking fine. The bulkhead connector I bought on ebay. YO are expensive.... I avoid buying of them.

You may have to remove the seats and be prepared to spend a little time on your back working overhead.  If you aren't able to, you might have to hire a contortionist.
