This is history, here, since it's the first time ANYONE has captured a live adult Giant Squid on film.  Amazing. :)

Ghost, it is the first time anyone has seen one alive at all.   ALL finds have been of the dead variety until now.   Just goes to show how big the oceans are...   :o

Exactly how long is 8 meters in feet?   ???
DODGE CHARGER--Fuel for Living!

Brock Samson

METER:
the basic unit of length adopted under the System International d'Unites (approximately 1.094 yards)

so 8 times approx 3.1 feet...  so 25 feet give or take...

Think there might be bigger ones?..  ???

bull

We need to hire those guys to film Bigfoot.

Those Japanese find everything. Remember when they discovered Godzilla? What a mess that turned out to be.

i have read in actual scientific journals that tenticals of giant squid have been found that would indicate lengths of 60 feet.

Not quite true, if you believe some of the more recent claims, and, of course, in the old days, the accounts of whales and squid fighting each other.
