There is a small hole beneath each exhaust port on a set of 302 heads I purchased for my 318 rebuild.
Does anything have to be done to these when installing headers?

I don't think there are any hedders made that cover those holes so you need to plug the holes, one way to do it is to thread the holes with a tap, I don't remember the size and then use a set screw that uses an allen wrench and loctite them in the head. That is just one of the ways and I am sure there are others but that has worked for me very well.
