I went to this year's MATS and really liked it. Hard to say what my schedule is going to be like by then, but I'm definitely gonna try to go again.

I probably won't stay at the Cannery though. I hear that's where it's "happening" after MATS, but I can get hooked up at a nicer place for less $.

Yeah, I think the Cannery was booked a week after last years MATS ended. Hopefully I'm wrong.  Not bad to hang at the Cannery and sleep somewhere more affordable. Of course, we Vegas folks just sleep at home... :coolgleamA:

I've gone every year and going again next year. I heard that Phil(?) Painter blocks out the whole hotel for sponsors and sellers. It was supposedly booked the day after this years MATS. I usually stay on the strip for some fun :icon_smile_big:

I know I'll be there again this year..  I love the show and hangin with the guys.. I stay at the VEGASMIKE HOTEL.  The people that stay there are great. The booze is pouring day and night. The cooks are fantastic. We ride in a nasty 68' Charger back and forth to the track. DOOR TO DOOR BABY........... Not to mension the price is right......     Ask Ron about this place. It's great.....  I hear there will be an extra guy there this year, named VITO.. Hahaha.. (Sorry, inside joke for those who know)...

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

chargerman68

The Cannery is NOT the only Hotel or Motel in Vegas.. Not by a very long shot.. Most of the people that go to the Cannery after the show each night are not staying there.. The party is outside in a large court yard. They have food vendors and a band.. When that ends you hop in your rental or a taxi and head to a casino, or a show, or a strip joint,,, (DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD)?

It may be a good idea to get a bunch of people together and make a deal with 1 casino/Hotel to all stay there and have them bus you back and forth to the track...  It's worth a try...

The MATS is a great time and well worth what ever it takes to go.. Ask anyone who has been... And it should only get better by the year..

Sorry 68', it wasn't directed to you. Just a general statement so people are not driven off due to the Cannery being full. It is full from day one of this show for the next show...

Maybe I should just "Rambo"-style it the whole weekend and save the hotel money.

Hah...done it before and it wasn't so bad. In fact, Vegas is a little more exciting when you're there and you have to 'live off the land' for a day or two. You know, meet people, get in adventures, stuff like that.

Of course, this is all moot if the Princess decides to come along, in which case i need to get a room and do all that stuff you have to do when you bring sand to the beach.
