I wouldn't mind parking this old stepside in my driveway

But not for what they're asking. :o Looks very nice though... I'd lose the baby moons and put on some Magnums 500s with some nice, wide BFG T/As if I owned it. :yesnod:

I don't really understand why the price on the black one is so high considering the same lot has a fairly nice Little Red Express for $7k. :shruggy:

Just glancing over the pics, the black truck appears to be in slightly better shape & it's a 4 speed. The Red Express may not be a real one, but I don't know for sure. I do see several things wrong, the chrome stacks & side steps are missing, the rear bumper with the built in tail lights are wrong, as well as the wheels. It should have chrome steel wheels & the tail lights mounted at the side of the bed opening. The diamond plate edge & bed protectors look cheesy on it, & the seats are shot. Maybe it's got rotted wood under the plate & twice the miles on it too?

They're both nice, but I think the black one is nicer.  :Twocents:

The owner is trying for a slamdunk on the black truck. Its a very nice truck. You probably couldnt redo one for 10g's  but at the same time trying to get 10g's out of it is gonna be hard to do.

The Lil Red is missing some important pieces and may not be a real one as stated by Old Moparz.

Yea, I guess you're right. The paint on that black one looks nearly perfect.

It is also missing the correct steps. I would say that this truck is a clone and a poor one at that. I know that I could build one of these trucks for less than 8K. But I also have allot of parts laying around. All little reds came with 360's and in 1978 could out run a 78 corvette in the 1/4(its true). I have a real clean extra cab short bed that I am thinking about making into a lil red clone to pull the trailer. Its a nice truck. 1/2 ton 2x4 440 auto. Also has 3:55 9 1/4 sure grip rear.  I would like to find a warlock.  Much cooler than a lil red if you ask me. Plus you COULD get a 440 in a warlock.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

Even though it might be a "clone".......I kinda like the way its set up. I never liked the factory exhaust set-up. To me, it looked like it was right out of the J.C. Whitney catalog. The aluminum slots look good on there too.

That rear bumper looks like its from a 78 Chevy Malibu or El Camino.  :yesnod:

There's a late 70s Dodge stepside in the local junkyard, in very nice shape, with a 318.  However, the owner of the yard absolutely refuses to sell it, except as parts.  Keeps claiming title issues.  Shame, as it has very little rust, and is complete.  I keep going back, and I keep getting told "no."

I think I've got pics of it somewhere around here...

Well, have it disassembled at the yard, buy all the parts and then reassemble it at home. :shruggy: :nana:

TheGhost

Can't afford to do it that way, as he charges for time and labor as well as the parts, and won't let anyone pull parts themselves.

My first car was a 79 Power Wagon, 360 auto two tone brown & tan. Ive missed that ever since selling it in 86 to a military buddy, wonder what ever became of it. I do know that sometime in late 86 his wife ran into a foreign job (toy or Datsun) and the P-dub delivered some serious beating on it. Years ago, another friend had a 78 PW, it was a black stepside and looked similiar to the Warlock, but as I remember it had script that said California Special. Does anyone remember these? During the late 70s Chrysler went nuts with the stripe tape packages (Macho, Lil Red, Warlock, etc) Pretty neat looking trucks though, all of them...

70charger_boy

They are both nice trucks, but the black one is way overpriced
