How to remove 74 Charger rear bumper?

Does anybody have a diagram to help me remove the rear bumper on my 74 charger. I have looked and cannot find where the bolts are.

inside the trunk, on rear wall... 6 9/16" bolts, 2 9/16" nuts with stud.

just need to unplug rear harness, loose sidemarker sockets, tail lights grommets from trunk wall, rear lights ground and metallick wraps attached on trunk wall behind license plate.

also lower guard braces from frame rails. OR from guards itself ( what I think is easier )

assembly will come out complete.

Thanks, I didn't know it was that easy. Those guards are a pita to get off.

you don't need to remove guards, they will keep on bumper... just need to loose the lower brace. On 73 models you can remove from frame rails, however 74s are easier remove from guard, keeping braces on frame rails since they are curved and probably will be uncomfortable to remove because will meet with rear valence.

since normally I have tight room to park my car and allways stop the car with guards cushion when parking, that is a no go for me

Ya I agree on no bumber guards. I just never liked how they looked so I found a 71 Charger 500 in the junkyard and used it's front and rear bumpers and I love how it looks on my 73. Also it got rid of those filler moldings.

Changing the bumpers was 52X easier than I thought it would be. Could I use 71-72 mounts to help bring it closer. I removed the mouldings to see how it would look and the gap way way too big, so I put them back on.

Well bordin I think if you were able to obtain the 71-72 rear bumper bracket it would be able to bring 73 bumpers close to the body. But I'm not exactly sure but I think theres no difference between the bumpers it's just one bracket is shorter then the other.

Yes and in fact that's the only way to go.
