Did you ever take it back to show the person you bought it from? How did they react? Just thought this might make for a few good stories.

well kinda, the guy i got my first charger from in 1985 , had won the car in a card game . i bought it from him for 200.00 and it was the last resto type car done in my dads shop being finished in 1986 in time for me to get my drivers licence at age 16.Well about 5 years had gone by and this guy in a corkvette runs me down and wants to trade , offers cash etc for my charger , and proceeds to tell me that it used to be his car, at the time i had absolutely zero interest in selling it so I declined the offer only to be bugged by him about it for a long time to come , oh well it makes life interesting. so i guess its kinda like what you were asking for.

I bought two 68 chargers from a guy on here, sold one to build the other and sent the seller a pic, but got no reply.  He was in the national gaurd at the start of this Iraq conflict, and I have never herd from him again.  I have often wondered and hoped he was safe!

My first Charger, a '72 w/ the 400 I bought from the original family.  Sky blue with a white top and b5 interior, a real looker. 
I spent several weekends cleaning and detailing on it, waxed the inside of the trunk, cut & buffed, etc.  I took it to a judged show and won B body stock and went over to the lady's house with the trophy to show her.  She cried when she came out and looked at it and wished her Dad was still alive to see it.  It made my day.

I've got the opposite problem. I've been trying for about a year to get the current owner of my old '70 to send me some friggin' pictures of it and he apparently cannot give a damn if I ever see it again. You'd think the guy would be somewhat excited about showing it off.

He says otherwise but perhaps that's the case. At any rate I sold the car nearly 20 years ago and this is not the same guy I sold it to. I'm not sure how many people have owned it since. The only way I found him is because I remembered my license plate number and the car never left Oregon.

Im having almost the same kinda problem as you are Curtis. We contacted the 2nd owner of my Charger (we are the 4th) and he told us he had some pictures of it back in the 80s...we gave him our address and he said he would mail them as soon as he could.......that was 2 years ago. I still have his phone #...I really need to get around contacting him.

I have that same problem. I tracked a previous owner back to his home in Canada, and got his mother on the phone. She was very paranoid about giving me any info or even letting her son know (he lives in Denver now) I wanted to speak to him about the car he once owned. She then unleashed the dagger into my heart by saying she remembers the car well and has a bunch of pics. That was a killer knowing I would never see those pics. 

But anyway, to answer the original question, my buddy restored his old RR and brought it by the guys house to show him. The guy was very happy to see it all done.

original owner died, but son, who was a scholl friend of mine ( yeah I told WAS... i don't consider a friend anymore  ) saw the first time I painted it and told me IF I GOT THE MONEY I PAY THE PHASERED REFLECTIVE STRIPES to install on your car as contribution to the resto.

Dunno if he see how its now will get angry, jelous or excited. If he see it, will be by casuality not because I show him.

Yep.
Mike (my previous owner) has watch the progress of my car through just about everything.
He even introduced me to the owner before him to the car (Jeff)
Mike and Jeff were both very impressed with everything that I had done with the liz since I've owned it

No hes not . I made an ad saying that Im looking for Charger parts and the only guy to respond happened to be him. I emailed him some pictures of my Charger and hes gonna email me some pictures of his 69 R/T (the car he stripped mine for) and he wants to talk to me over the phone so Im gonna phone him after school tomorrow. He dosent have any pictures of the car when he had it though

Yeah, it's the opposite for me as well. The guy I bought my Charger from had a '69 in high school (this is a '68) and seemed kind of upset to let it go, and told me to keep him updated, etc. He replied to a few e-mails with questions/progress pictures, but I havn't been able to get any reply from him after telling him/showing him the latest progress. Oh well I guess.

The guy I got the Coronet from didn't care about it. He almost didn't sell it to me because My offer was 500 lower then what he wanted... I asked "if you dont sell it to me will you advertise it or restore it" he says nope it  is going to sit in the field, when he got it it was damn near a show car but 5 years in a field were hard on the old girl!

Well, I talked to the last owner of my Charger today...for 19 minutes. He apperentley has 2 garages full of parts and he said he can give me some good deals on parts. He also said hes very happy to see that my car is going good. Now heres the funny part. I went to a car show in July 07 and I took a picture of this 69 Charger that was orange. Well long story short, that is his car. So heres the car he stripped mine for
