Guess that i´m not the only one that is dying to hear the stories!!!!
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

The weather wasn't real good today, rained in North N.J. off and on. Probably a bad day for the track. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't go off as planed...... :flame:

what do you mean ?   Oh, those guys are afraid of running their cars in the rain ???   :nana:    in hindsight - it probably isnt such a great idea...   would make some sweet videos though    :2thumbs:

They should do it out here in CA - it already rained for 3 days...   that means clear skies until the end of the year

Hey guys -

The XV Day was well, wet... VERY wet. We had torrential downpours from the time we got there until we left. The selection of cars was nothing short of spectacular though. 4 HEAVILY modded Camaro's, the coolest Ford Fairlaine I have ever seen, Dayclona had the 1970 Melon a Viper GTS and the '71 Superbird there that theyy built, a 72 GTO, my Charger, 2 Challengers, a few ZO6 Corvette's, a Mini, Cobra, Porsche GT3, Boxster & 930 Turbo and so on... some really really cool rides. Like I said though, it rained all day. We did run though but speeds were WAY down. Cruising through the Turn 3 on the banking at Pocono at 80+mph in the pouring rain can be somewhat disconcerning with a nice concrete wall next to you, but one thing that I found amazing was actually how much traction we actually had in the wet. On the infield portion of the course we could actually really go pretty good and it was a lot of fun. A few cars spun off but the main thing you saw was people hanging out the tails of the cars in the rain which was a pretty cool sight.

About half way through the day I blew out my right side header gasket and when it first happened it scared the crap out of me as I just heard this loud ticking which is never a good sound but upon closer inspection we realized the gasket had just gone caput... no real worries just a VERY loud 120 mile trip home with the car sounding like a ticking time bomb - plus we sat in 4 hrs of traffic.

So, was it a good day? Yes it was a good day to explore the limits of your car in the wet, which really wasn't a bad thing. Could we really let it out, no. It was much too dangerous. I do have to say however that XV put on a great event and I truly encourage anyone who wants to take their cars on the track to do so next time, I promise you'll good time, rain or shine.

- I'll post pics and video on Monday.

Cheers - Mike

It was definitely a WET day with torrential downpours.

Everyone that came out ran it in the rain - no wimps in this bunch!
Was pretty wild running triple digits on the straight coming off NASCAR Turn 3.

I think everyone had an awesome time and got a chance to learn more about how their cars work.

We're going to do this again in the spring - hopefully on a warm sunny day!
Hope we get more Mopars (and Chargers!) out next time.

Great mix of cas from bone stock to wildly modified.

Let us know if you'd like to come out an play - guarantee you'll have a blast.

Here's some pics - Enjoy  :2thumbs:

Nobody  sat the day out because of the rain?

Probably indicates some major league pent-up demand for the opportunity that this track day provided.

The folks from Dayclona are real good people - they had a lot of fun too.

Pam was out there all day long in the Viper GTS and both wing cars they brought.
I was impressed!
