To be a bigger JOKE than the new Charger if that is possible. I got the word today from inside sources that it too will be a 4dr.

Naturally, since there is no market for a two door.  Just look at how Ford can't give away those Mustangs.  Poor old Ford.

As I've said earlier about this many time.....I knew they'd end up screwing that one up as well.

At least we won't be alone anymore in our discust with Chryslers stupidity.  Well have a bunch of new e-body guys.

That's ok, most of the stuff coming from DCX these days doesn't sound right.

Take the Daytona truck for example... :rotz:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I don't want DCX messing with anymore legendary nameplates  :flame: :flame: :flame:

Stop the insanity!!!!
Say it out loud "a four door'Cuda"
With all the negativity from the Mopar faithful on the new Charger you'd think they would leave it alone - but then you'd be wrong.  :rotz:

Gee, just what we need, another four door lump. With the renewed interest in fuel economy, it'll prolly have a 1.2 litre four banger in it. ::)

Um..... all the sources I've read say it WILL be a 2 door, and it's called the Challenger, not the Cuda.  Unless, they are  bringing back BOTH nameplates, and completely changing the Cuda, like they did the Charger.....

I beg to differ Mr. Twilt,. they have plenty of capacity,. excess capacity...

Intorducing the all new dodge hemi cuda. 2 times the doors equals two times as cool guys. That sounds so ridiculous. i wonder if this one will have body lines or if it will be the same new car bubble roof line with round panels. Dodge barracuda. it sounds so retarded. when the history book chapter ended at 1974 for musclecars THAT WAS IT. There was nothing more to write, opening it back up with those nameplates was a very touchy thing to do.

It will have the new Hemi and the same platform as the magnum and 300, oh and ofcourse the charger.  It will also look like the following except different grill and name plates.

I'm going to withhold judgement at least until I see an OFFICIAL sketch.   I think they're going to make up for their mistakes this time.  Just a guess...

This says nothing about it being a "Dodge" 'Cuda, but it seems thats what the replies are mentioning. Are we certain that its going to be a "Dodge"?

DCX makes my head hurt.

Orange_Crush

Relax people.  The rumor about the 'cuda's been going around for a while but every insider (who is REALLY an insider) that I heve heard from had told me that there is no 'Cuda in the works...this includes the guy who first posted sketches of the '06 CHarger...before the Car and Driver came out w/ the drawings.  Just a Challenger.

DCX is more interested in making the Firepower a reality for Chrysler in keeping with the more upscale image they are trying to project for the Chrysler brand.

The Challenger has already been announced (by Chrysler) as being a 2-door car...so its gonna be a 2-door car.

So relax.

IMHO The 'Cuda (and Challenger) were undoubtedly the most overrated cars Chrysler ever built so, to be perfectly honest, The names really mean nothing to me.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I think they would be better served to not make duplicates (roughly) of essentially the same car like they did with the Charger/300.  It would make much more sense to make the firepower and the challenger as opposed to the CUDA and the challenger.   Are there really that many people that would buy a new challenger and not the cuda (and vice versa)?  It would be better to go after two niches as opposed to confusing people buy making two cars in the same niche.   I hope that made sense, I just got back from work...

I'm not going to worry about it.  I'm not interested in the new Challenger even if it is a two door.  I want a two door Charger.  If DCX won't build it, then, I'm not buying Dodge anymore.  PERIOD!

Anything on a Chrysler lot right now, to me personally, isent worth even $5k. What Im saying is that in five years I still wouldent give 5k for them at their used price. Minus the crossfire and viper of course. Therefore I continue to enjoy watching the disaster Chrysler is making of themselves.

And yes I agree. E-Bodies are overrated. Nothing more than stickers and BS accesories. What happens when you pull those off...you quickly see that E-Bodies are 1st gen. Camaro wannabe's. Yup, I said those blasphemous words.  :yesnod:

I talked with a Regional Manager with Chrysler at Monster Mopar Weekend and from everything he has heard in 2009 there will be a 2 door Challenger and it will have some retro styling but, not a flat out copy. The Mustang sales have opened the eyes of the powers to be I guess.

BTW: I'll admit I don't follow big corp profits but, I thought Chrysler was doing as well or better than the other domestics. (Troy probably has some stats to back up or correct this. :))  As a whole the product line is not that bad...whether the "new" Charger is a success with the general public remains to be seen.

If you can believe anything you read, it seems that so far Chrysler is the only one of the so called "Big Three" that is doing well right now, largely because of the success of the 300 and Magnum.  I suspect that the Charger isn't doing as well, mainly because I have heard very few people who have anything good to say about it.  There will be several thousand sold, I'm sure.  The Cordoba-Charger and Omni-Chargers sold for the time they were produced.  But, they only made it for essentially one production run.  That may be the case for the current Anti-Charger as well.  However, the remainder of the Chrysler product line seems to be much better than anything they've made before.  Seems that the Daimler merger may have benefitted Chrysler more than it benefitted Mercedes.

Now, if the powers that be would just get their heads out of their asses and pay attention to design from the perspective of appearance, they could really make some money.
