Gunslinger comes with several choices of handles and designed to fit T handle or the ball type shifter.  Took me 5 minutes to install.  I would strongly recommend Gunslinger for both price and product.  I put it on a 73 Charger so, yes it works with a 3rd gen.

i like the way the Duncan shifter is set up, but without the button couldn't you accidentally shift the car into reverse? (if you accidentally bump it.. anything could happen), also they have reverse pattern shifters... but it says you don't have to replace your linkage? How does that work?

The reverse shift pattern is on the top of the shifter. It's for if you already have a reverse shift tranny. ;)

Never mind;
"The shifter works just like the original stock shifter except to move to and form neutral or drive you push down on the arm instead of the button on top of the OEM shifter arm"

Brian,

I have the ones from Gunslinger.  I attached a picture of the one I just put in the Road Runner.  I changed it over from bench to buckets along with one of the new carpets that I sell.

It does have to do with the gate setup of the shifter.  I was Tom's "test mule" for the reverse pattern shifter gate.  I explained my need for a positive 2nd gear shift due to me sometimes missing 2nd gear because of my stock shifter.  Originally I had to depress the button to go from "D" to "2" (1-2 shift) and then again from "2" to "1" (2-3 shift)  I wold press the button & go too far & skip 2nd.

Now I had him make it up where its a slap-stick style shift from 1-2 (just pull handle back, no button press) and then 2-3 press button.  No more missed 2nd gear!

I also had him make it where there is no button pressed to go from 3rd back to 1st  ( I have a full reverse manual valve body with no engine braking in first)

His products are really top notch

I also had a custom made decal made up to really fool the judges ;)
