Changings shifter from tree to consol? how would i do it

Ok im thinkin about changing my bench seats to bucket and putting a center consol it my 73 se and putting the shifter on the consol, what would i have to do to change it? i really couldnt choose if i could put this topic in this or the interior forum.

Depending on how complete you want the look, you will need to find a non shifting steering column, the console mounting brackets, the shifter, the shift linkage.  Then it's a simple as swapping the parts and drilling a few holes. 
It's actually a little more complicated than I make it sound but it's no big deal really.  No specialty tools required (a steering wheel puller if you consider that a specialty tool) or skills that can only be required through years and years of experience.
