Need some help and advice on choosing a paint color.

I have a 1968 Charger R/T.  It has numbers matching engine but not transmission.  It is a factory automatic with power windows, rear defrost, 8 track and power brakes.  It was factory SS1 Yellow.  I am not a big fan of this color.  I think it is too light.  I have looked at some other yellows such as the 1970 yellow or even the 1973 yellow.  However, my favorite is the 2001 Viper Race Yellow.  What are your thoughts on how this might affect the value of the car if I decide later to sell the car?  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think it would mostly depend on what else you are doing with the rest of the car. What I mean is, the "incorrect" paint will stand out a lot more as a decline in value if everything else is 100% factory correct, but if you had different seats, wheels, blah blah blah. . . more of a modified route then I dobut paint color would matter much if you hear me out. I for one would DEFINITELY go the '01 Viper yellow route. . . much more nice and intense than the SS1

Yeah, if the car is like 100% original then it might hurt the value but if its not...paint away!

SS1? Was that the same color as Y2 in '69?
If so, that color is drop dead BEAUTIFUL on a Charger. Very elegant looking actually, if done right. And with power windows, rear defrost, 8-track, etc?? 

Sounds like a mostly matching #'s car ya got there, except for the trans?
No brainer for me. SS1 all the way!

if your gonna keep the car all stock (not my gig though)? then keep it a stock color if your worried about later re-sale value!!!!

It wouldn't matter even if it was a little modified, either. That color is just really nice looking, IMHO.
I have nothing against Chargers painted bright-a$$ yellow, but to me that Y2/SS1 color is no comparison. Looks WAAAAAY better.

the bottom line is, that YOU need to like the color of youre car .  personally a I think the pale yellow is one of the coolest colors that you could choose frome in 68 so do youre self a favor and atleast check out a few pics of chargers in that color , nice fresh paint not faded rotters, but nice cars and you may or may not change youre mind
