I'm not sure if this is the place to post this or not my brother and I have been kicking around the Idea of building a charger using a fiber glass body I thought at one time they were available but have not been able to find anything other than fiberglass parts! Has anyone seen these or know of any one that makes or sells them?

Thanks

There was one for sale on ebay a while ago.  It didn't sell for alot.  Try doing an internet search

Thanks I'll see If I can find the past ebay sale! Ive tried searching on the internet but haven't been able to find any thing other than hoods and fenders!

anyone else seen these?

Mike DC

The ones I've seen for sale were duped from an old "flopper" type of funnycar deal.

I've never seen a commercially available 1-piece Charger 'glass mold that was still in the real street-car proportions.

Do a google search.I had found a site a while back.Kept a pic but not the rest of the info. They were $3,400.

I'm not all that familiar with fiberglass bodies in general, but $3400 seems a little pricey for what it is.

Even if you set aside the proportional changes, it still looks kinda crude and not very detailed.

terrible one

There was a better looking one than that on Ebay, normal proportions, went for like $800.

Mike DC

Not surprising.

It's one of those things; it might get bid up high or it might be given away.
Depends on exactly who wants it when it gets sold.

If it was in stock proportions & decent shape then I probably would've set the reserve higher than $800.

Mike DC

Are you trying to make a doorslammer, in normal proportions, with most of a normal car's components?

If so then I'm not sure the lack of body should be a big holdup.  You'll have to build a whole lot of stuff underneath that body anyway, which takes decent skills/resources.  Not cheap.  If you can do the rest of the car then you can probably pay to have the 'glass molded too.

if you do a search on the internet, there is a company making 1 piece front ends, hoods, doors, trunklids.

you would then need to gut a unibody and locate metal quarters, dutchman, rockers, roof.

Showcars up in Ontario had them listed. The quality sometimes has issues.I guess it all depends on the attitude of the employee.I have numerous items from them, some real good some just need a little work. But for the price I was happy.

Are you looking for something like this? Too bad it is sold already. Maybe call the guy up. The new owner may want to sell it.

The web site is  http://www.nostalgiafunnycarbodies.com/   looks like they're only $2,500 now

thanks guys I was thinking more of the correct proportions not the funny car look! something that could be mounted on say a tube chassis !

may be easier to pick up a shell that need floors and frame rails and go from there with the fiberglass front clip doors and deck lid.

thanks again!

P.S. Nothing in the works now just kicking around a few Ideas for a future project!
