Cleaning/ detailing engine bay?

This is more geared toward my '01 LS, as the Charger and Cadillac both have no engine. Either way, when I got the car the engine bay was done up real nice, looked just as clean and shiny as the rest of the car. However, since I've owned it, I haven't cleaned it when I wash and wax the rest of the car, simply because I don't know how. Does anyone have any tips/tricks/methods to share when it comes to cleaning/detailing engine bays, particularly on newer cars like this one when they are more cluttered.

you can use engine degreaser and wipe it off with a rag and a toothbrush with some baking soda.  When I was younger and had an auto detailing business I use to spray Wire Dryer on all the electrical wires and use a pressure washer on the engine.  I'm not really sure what the "Kids" are doing today, though

Now I could be wrong here, but...
I'm pretty sure most used car engine detailing involves a big spray bottle of "detail in a bottle"...sometimes just called JIZZ. They pretty much pop the hood & hose down everything under there...like a fog...let it dry for a few minutes...wipe off the main visible areas, then the rest dries to a hard, glossy type stuff.
Looks just beautiful...or long enough to get your first payment in the bank.

In case I'm wrong (only happened once in my life ), you could ask a detail shop dude what they use.

For what it's worth, the Stinkin' Lincoln looks purty good from here.

It seems that tire foam is the way to go.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess I'll go at it this weekend. I'm just scared about the coil packs as they are notorious for failure and I've already replaced every single one of them once! (What a pain in the ASS that was!)
