I need a radiator and I'm not sure what size? 68 charger 440

Thanks!

Measure across the rad cradle opening to see how wide you need for a core.  It will either be 22 or 26 inches.

I'm using this radiator in my 68 Charger with a 440, though I have a 4-Speed (no tranny cooler lines):

Seems to work good so far over the last few hundred miles.  I had a 22" opening, the Summit Radiator is a good amount wider than my car's opening.

I think the question is what do you want?  Aluminum or brass/copper?  Stock or stock looking or aftermarket?  Can your current radiator be recored?  I went with the Summit because I don't care about "originality" and my original radiator was junk.  Also it seemed like a good deal.  Mancini Racing, among others also sell radiators (seem pricey to me):

Where your coolent hoses come into the engine and to the radiator is also something that you need to consider, along with your tranny cooler lines.  Good luck

how come that ones so cheap while the others are anywhere from 500 to 1500?... would that one be adequate for a mildly built 440.. or is it more for a stock setup?

Most of them were 22" and I think the 26" were only for A/C-equipped cars. Your fender code should tell you too.

The problem becomes finding a 22"!  I've not had much luck finding a replacement...

check ebay or moparts in the swap meet section. or www.usradiator.com I got a 4 row from them but you will need the hayden 2765 fan clutch because the radiator is kinda fat. get that at any auto parts store. it fits a jag xj6

That's what I was wondering too.  I would be willing to drop a good amount of money on a radiator if I knew it was the best one out there, but none of the radiators I came across were exactly what I was looking for.  The Be Cool stuff and Mancini radiators look nice, but the price seems to be inflated.  I heard time after time that the Summit radiator was good and it seems good quality to me.  Plus their price is more inline with what I THINK a radiator oughta cost

I have also heard good things about that Jaguar radiator on ebay, sounds like a good deal.  I forgot to mention that I had the Mopar Performance clutch fan and I tried to use it with my 'stock 318 22" radiator' with my new 440, but it didn't fit.  The clutch was too long by maybe 3/4" to 1".  I had to use the old rigid mounted fan from my 318 that is basically directly bolted onto the water pump pulley.  Then I upgraded to the Summit radiator, but I have yet to try and see if I could use the Mopar clutch fan, good luck

I use a stock 22" + shroud on a mildly built 440.  can drive all day long on a hot day and never have any trouble.  ;D  the temp gauge might go a little to the right of center at a long stop light once in a while, but that's it.  also I use straight water + water wetter additive, except now that it's cold again the anti-freeze is back in there.  I think people spend way too much on radiators, but just my   :Twocents:
