Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Think about the amount of cash that could possibly roll in for those who can't afford certain items during his or her restoration.

that would be somewhat like a contributors corner just like on old site in a way. Great idea, just not sure if people here will chip in $10 monthly to help out someone they dont know or perhaps hold personal grudge against, etc. $120 could buy something decent for a charger.

If this goes through all the "I'm ins" should get a PM to remind us. Someone should set up a paypal acct (one of the mods or Troy?) and we can all send the money there.

This is an excellent idea.

I would contribute, I waist more money than that buying parts that arent what people say, and doing jobs two or three times instead of paying the money to do it right the first time :brickwall:

I think I'm in, but I also think it needs some clarification.

Are we talking about a 50/50 draw here? Half to the winner and half to support the board? or what?

We'd need some easy way to draw winners too. Also, account for more than one entry per person - $10 per entry or 3 for $20 or something along those lines.

I'm not sure what the legalese would need to be behind all this; tax implicatios

Troy

If I'm reading this right it's more of a raffle/lottery since all the money goes to the winner(?). On the old site we did have raffles/prizes within the Contributor's Corner. The prizes were usually donated and proceeds (if any - most were freebies) went to the site. Obviously you had to be a Contributor to be eligible.

I have purposely avoided anything involving money from members since this site was created - primarily due to the backlash/criticism heaped on Jesse and ChargerBill. Even though I could certainly use the help, forgive me if I seem a bit gun shy. I don't mind the group buys because I never have to touch the money and all business transactions are between the buyer and seller. These don't cost me anything and usually don't require a lot of my time.

Any way, I'll give it some thought and check into any legal issues. Maybe we can work something out.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

It's just running. We haven't done much to it this year. With fixing all the stuff on the Daytona that the Body Shop screwed up. And the regular repairs of our other cars. Not much is gonna get done on the S/C til Shelby is out of college. :shruggy:

That's my thoughts. She has already had offers to from peps to buy it. But she'll never sell it. Chad was like a Dad to her and that's what she has to remember him. It was his dream to restore the Coupe and I'll help her with it. But education 1st. :2thumbs:   I did find out about a guy that has a front spoiler for one. And was told I could get it cheap. It's the only part that we really need. But I'm gonna check it out before I tell her.
