Hi guys!
Does anyone know whats on this picture?
It seems like there are two lines from my fueltank of wich one goes to the carb and the other one goes into this box.
What function does it have?

Thanks for any help! :)

terrible one

It's a charcoal canister evaporator thingy for emissions. The fuel vapors from your tank go into it. Saying that makes me sound stupid but I just know what it is and does, not how it works.

suposelly recicles the gas vapors to carb to be used by the engine

Basically it's filled with charcoal (or charcoal impregnated foam?) and when the vapors drift into it, they are absorbed by the charcoal.
Only if it's on your 68, someone must have retrofitted it.  I'm pretty sure they didn't make an appearance on Mopars until the mid 70's?  In any case, it's a fairly harmless device and if it helps the world...

Thanks for all your help!
I was thinking it must be something like that.. And no its not on my 68, but my 75.
Im stripping it all down to remove weight, so thats just one more thing coming out! :)
Was pulling out all kind of wires and stuff today.. I guess i dont need cruisecontrol in a dragracecar! ;)

In my 69 that vacuum can was for the headlight doors. I've got a similar (aftermarket) can on my Duster but it is to scavenge vacuum for the brakes.

The 70's cars had vacuum cans to operate the A/C pods.

Yep... Here's one from a 1971 Charger. Not sure if it's the same for 1970.  It's the same can used for Air Grabber / Ramcharger Hoods, just a different bracket.

Charcoal / Vapor Cannisters started showing up in 1972...

Mine doesn't have, however I would like to be able to route the air with engine off
