Oh, I thought we were supposed to say, "what in your opinion is the best movie AND cars chase scene or scenes ever made" not post a link to a poll.

Bull, you've been uptight lately  :pity:  I did a search for the best car chases and when I looked at that poll they were all good.  So, I posted it.  That is when I noticed Bill Hickman.  Besides, most of the movies that everyone has said is in the poll.  :D

NYCMille

Hmm... tough one.

- Mad Max
- The Road Warrior
- Ronin
- Bullit
- Smokey and the Bandit (it was a 2 hour car chase)
- French Connection

Nacho-RT74

Damn Just named three times

SORRY GUYS... RONIN is the best chase and MOVIE ITSELF ever made with a chase on it... in fact is not with just one chase scene on it as far I remember... I think there is a chase in the mountanis roads with a Mercedes 450SEL 116.

Too hot, very detailed showing the handling tricks, is amaizing when the police car flips up in the 1st tunnel and just left room to the Peugeot. How the hell they did that in same take ?

of course is easy a chase like that with european cars :D better handling LOL.

BTW forgett Bullit and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. they show just cars running what is great but is not a hot chase itself.

Blues Brother is simply a joke, an excuse to crash cars

Seven ups... never have seen that before but just saw it and is good but nothing like Ronin... small streets, hard curves, lot of transit. IMHO Seven ups is allmos a Bullit chase scene clone.

AND A CHASE WITH A CHARGER!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRxvdgbELQE
this is my fav... I have no idea about how is the movie but this chase is really hot... better than Bullit, more agressive...

However dunno why the cluster they show is not  the Charger one. And the final take over the ice is a piece of $**T. Very unreal hehehe

( and no, is not because there is a 3rd gen on it )

Another cool chase scene is from the movie Speedtrap. One of the main cars in it is a red & white 71 Charger. Theres also a few more 3rd Gen. Chargers in it plus a Duster. If you go to youtube, you can find it split up into 3 parts.

Because this chase is done with high-end luxury road cars (that actually handle the road) it's often dismissed, but the actual chase is right there amid the biggies.

How about Romancing the Stone. I like the scene where Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and the Columbian guy are being chased. They are in a Ford Bronco (not positive it was a Bronco) and the Columbian guy is giving narration to them and pointing out things like the tree that his father planted and favorite pig, etc. all while being chased.
A Fact of Life: After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF.........

What about the Italian Job?

I thought about that one too, but the original.  :2thumbs:

I loved how they drove the cars right up the ramps & into the moving truck to hide them. I'm not a fan of any car chase that looks more like a cartoon, it has to be "REAL" without computer animation, without launching ramps behind parked cars, & without massive explosions as if they had 5000 gallons of gas in them.

How about one I didn't see mentioned. "Live & Die In L.A." for a good highway chase?

How about Thunder Road (late 50's) with Robert Mitchum? Its often credited with being the first modern (not Keystone Cops era) car chase movie. The end is very DMCL...pretty cool flick and, Ive heard, fairly representative of shine runners back in those days. The Dukes origins in Moonrunners also had some chases. Some interesting genealogy, my grandfather sold homemade whiskey to my grandmothers brothers back in the 20's who all lived in a dry county in NE Arkansas and thats how they ended up meeting. My dad and I and my kids owe our existence to moonshine I guess. Wow, crazy story huh?
