I just got back from attending a local car show here in Columbia, Mo.  There were the usual Mustangs, Camaros, street rods, etc. but at the end of the main row was an orginal 1966 New Yorker with 42,000 miles (very nice, only the tires/oil cap/gaskets/battery have been changed).  It is a 440, column shift auto 4dr. without air conditioning, but with a remote radio. :2thumbs:  I should have taken pictures, but I left my camara at home.  While talking with the owners, the guy started telling me stories about the town around the mid to late 60s.  One of the cars his friend had was a yellow 1968 Charger with a black top, 318, three speed manual on the column.  He could not remember if the interior was black or gold.  The friend lived in Ashland, Mo for a while during that time then moved to Texas back in the ealry 1970s (whereby the guy lost track of the friend).  I seriously think that the Charger that I bought last year is the same one.  It was sitting out in a field in Ashland since 1973 before I bought it.  It seems to be highly unlikely that two yellow/black top, 318, three speed manual 1968 Chargers would have been in this town, but you never know.  Anybody else have something similar happen.......

Always great to here people that remember cars you owned.  I almost headed up to Columbia for the Nebraska, Mizzou game, I had a couple tickets, but my sons college buddy was in town, they both wrestled for Nebraska and wanted to go, so I gave them the tickets.  Go Mizzou!

I bought my Charger from the original owner of 30 years. He was not much of a car guy. He gave me two pieces of info. "we sure had a lot of good times in that car" and  "my grandson wanted this car, but he couldn't handle it".

I'm happy to "handle it".

Great story.  Every time, that I talk to old timers about the old chargers they all have to say this.  "I had a charger and gave it to my son and he totalled it"  I heard that alot more than once, soI hope you can handle yours

I hear similar often. Too often for the stories to be true. The stories end in it being totaled, being sold, stolen, or in the woods waiting to be worked on someday and brought to B/J. It would be funny to catalog all the stories people tell about Chargers. I bet there were a few million Chargers made if each tale was accounted for.
