Hey Darrin.

I had a similar setup to yours.   I had a 440 with a 509 cam, stock convertor.  WHen I first got it.  I would stomp on the gas and nothing.  I could not get the 28"tires to turn.  I changed the gears out to 3:91's with a 2600 stall ( should have went with at least a 3000)and I had instant smoke.  Firefighter is correct on this cam.  For being an old grind. It is decent.  With a nice lumpy sound.  But there are alot more better cam selections out there.  The power band on the cam is very small.  The cam comes on late around 2500rpms.  And quits making power somewhere around 5300-5500 rpms.  I would consider another cam if I was you.  I know I will, somewhere down the line.
